If you're traveling as a couple or solo, get a ticket with food—on the balcony, if possible (it's more comfortable, but sitting inside compromises the view, as the windows are a bit dirty, and there's a little more privacy on the balcony). Arrive around sunset (5:00 PM), have dinner (cocktails are 150-200 baht) with a view of the setting sun, and when it starts to get dark, climb up onto the rotating platform. The view of the city at night is simply amazing; we stood on three laps. In total, including dinner, we spent two hours in Baiyoke.★

My seat was on the open deck on the 3rd floor. Many buildings were illuminated at night, making for a beautiful view from the ship. The buffet bar initially had a long queue, but they were constantly restocking. I recommend waiting until the queue is shorter before getting your food. There was also live music on board, creating a great atmosphere.
