Enter the magnificent Mosque–Cathedral of Córdoba to experience a former mosque turned Catholic cathedral following the Reconquista of the Middle Ages.
Discover an amazing mix of architectural styles constructed over 9 centuries. Standing in the historic center of Córdoba, the cathedral is considered one of the most beautiful examples of Muslim art and architecture in Spain. First built in 785 by the Muslim emir Abd-el-Rahman I on the site of the ancient Visigoth church of San Vicente, the church was first divided into Muslim and Christian halves.
Once inside, see parts of the original building on its eastern side, and step on some of the eroded steps of the old minaret.
