Itinerary
Embark on an exciting journey through the breathtaking Los Haitises National Park in the Dominican Republic. See rivers, mangroves, and lots of local wildlife. Explore the Arena and Linea Caves, which have petroglyphs and paintings left by indigenous populations 750 years ago.

Meet at Caño Hondo hotel entrance at your chosen time and set off on your adventure. Arrive at the marina and board a boat to leave Sabana de la Mar behind and head towards Los Haitises National Park. Sail along the Caño Hondo River through the red mangroves until you reach San Lorenzo Bay.

As you glide through the water, see rocky mogotes and spot pelicans and kingbirds flying overhead. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for the 700 different species of plants that cover the islets in this area.

After the boat trip, enter both Arena and Linea Cave, which have petroglyphs and paintings left by indigenous populations 750 years ago. Also see how these paintings depict animals, deities, and humans in black and grey shades.

Following this caving experience, return to the boat and continue exploring the national park. Look out for manatees, dolphins, and the other marine mammals that inhabit this area. Finish your day trip and head back to the starting point, where you will arrive 2.5 hours after your departure.
