Highlights

The only one in Japan! A class where you can learn both swordsmanship and traditional Japanese horseback archery (yabusame) from genuine masters who have perfected their arts.
Around 1000 years ago, the samurai's primary weapon was the bow. 450 years ago, matchlock guns became more powerful, and by 400 years ago at the end of the Sengoku period, their main weapon shifted to swords. In this class, you'll learn swordsmanship and archery from a master instructor, and even get to handle an antique matchlock gun.
Itinerary
Upon arriving at the dojo, you'll first attend a brief lecture before changing into your training attire.
In iaido practice, you will learn how to handle and swing a practice sword.
In sword practice, you'll learn the timing of offense and defense while performing sparring with practice swords.
There is also an activity to check the blade alignment.
Additionally, you can experience the bow, which was the main weapon of samurai 1000 years ago.
Participants will also have the opportunity to watch a demonstration by a 7th dan master from the All Japan Toyama-ryu Iaido Federation.
