Things to do in Dongning

📍Suifenhe National Gate 🇨🇳The only scenic area in China with a cross-border passage running through the entire country 🇨🇳The only scenic area among China's national gate scenic spots to integrate three generations of national gates 🇨🇳A Class A national port for trade between China and Russia 🇨🇳Since the first-generation cast iron barrier gate was put into use in 1987, it has undergone the transformation from the second-generation rocket-shaped national gate in 1991 to the third-generation Chinese-style national gate (51.8 meters high) in 2014.

Jinguang Temple is located on the left bank of Suifen River in Dongning City, facing the Shenxian Cave Scenic Area across the river. There are seven majestic peaks on the south bank of Suifen River, which are like a winding dragon. Suifen River is also known as the Nine Bends and Eighteen Turns, and Jinguang Temple is built on the eighteenth turn. Therefore, the majestic Jinguang Temple is blessed with mountains and water, and is really beautiful.

The transportation to this place is very convenient and it is worth a visit.

Changbai Mountain, true to its name, is incredibly clean! The restrooms in all areas were spotless, with sensor-activated flushes and hot water for handwashing – a truly touching experience for an autumn/winter trip. The restrooms had different themes, such as sables and black bears, adding a touch of vibrancy. We arrived a little late; most of the leaves had fallen, and it was the dry season, so the waterfalls weren't at their most beautiful. The small Tianchi Lake wasn't worth visiting yet; it's small, the water quality is so-so, and the surrounding forests are bare. Overall, the autumn air was crisp and clear. The 50-kilometer stretch from the distribution center to the transfer center was beautiful, vibrant with color, and Tianchi Lake was stunning. I especially loved the forest at the bottom of the valley; the pine scent was wonderful! I highly recommend walking to the end; there are vast, fairytale-like forests there, and we were lucky enough to encounter foxes and quite a few chipmunks along the way!

I've visited many 5A scenic spots, and this one was a great experience, mainly due to the staff. The bus ticket inspectors were very welcoming, greeting me warmly. Because it was the off-season, there weren't many people, and the driver, worried about missing my waterfall viewing, took the entire shuttle bus just for me – I was very touched. When I travel alone, I ask someone to take my picture, and if it happens, the staff will say "Welcome back next time" afterward – very thoughtful. With the recent popularity of Qing Dynasty dramas, this place recreates some scenes from Ningguta, which is quite interesting. Jingpo Lake itself is also very scenic, with a large body of water. The boat tour takes over an hour and is very comfortable!

Although many say China's Snow Town is becoming too touristy & expensive (compared to Snow Valley), I think it is still worth visiting. There are lots of ACTIVITIES to do all within walking distance. Reindeer rides, feeding, skiing, photo op including the hot water vapor video etc. One down side is that there was no signage to designated bus to/from Yabuli station (no waiting area either). It is also difficult to find restaurants for people with dietary restrictions (eg. Vegetarian, halal etc).

Booking tickets on the platform is very convenient; you can just swipe your ID card to enter without picking up a ticket. The information provided by the platform is accurate. I have always used this platform for travel and will continue to pay attention to it.

The Big White Building and the Human Head Building are must-see attractions in Suifenhe, but many people don't know where to go after arriving. You can visit them at night or during the day. During the day, there's a small museum inside that you can check out.

Although it's an artificial photo spot, it's still quite interesting because I've never seen architecture like this before. The garden is actually very small; you can walk through it in no time if you don't take photos, so you don't need to stay too long.

😱The log flume was thrilling!😄 🎢The roller coaster is a favorite among young people❤, but the weightlessness of the drop tower made me hesitate. Kudos to the brave riders!😃 🏃Amusement park worth a try!👍
