Castle of Eger

Castle of Eger is a significant attraction in Eger, built after the Mongol invasion in the 13th century. You can reach the castle by following a cobblestone ramp behind the city center square. The castle is famous for the successful defense by just over 2,000 people against nearly 40,000 Turkish troops in 1552, a history that remains an immortal legend among the people of Hungary to this day. This world-renowned castle covers a vast area, and beneath it lies a network of tunnels carved into the hard rock of the mountain, spanning 5 levels and reaching a depth of 30 meters. It served as the base for the famous Siege of Eger. Later, Hungarian writer Géza Gárdonyi dedicated his life to writing the novel *Eclipse of the Crescent Moon* in 1901 based on this historical event, recounting this tragic and heroic story, which has since been translated into many languages. Standing on the castle, you can overlook the vibrant Baroque town of Eger.

The square is named after the Hungarian general Debor Istvan, who led Eger's soldiers to defeat the Turkish army with fewer wins. Egri Termál- és Strandfürdő

Egri Termál- és Strandfürdő is located in Eger, in the Egri district of Heves, Hungary. It is a historic, multi-purpose thermal bath. Since opening in 1932, it has become an important local thermal experience destination thanks to its abundant thermal water resources and excellent leisure environment. The Cathedral of St. John, the Cathedral of Eger, is the cathedral of the Catholic Archdiocese of Eger and the largest church in Eger. The church was built in 1831-1836 in the classical European architectural style. The massive entrance to the church is supported by 17-meter-high Corinthian columns decorated with magnificent statues of saints such as St. Stephen, Laszlo I, St. Peter and St. Paul.
