Mount Ararat is a high peak in Turkey, with an altitude of 5,137 meters. It is located at the junction of Agri Province and Idir Province in the east of the country, adjacent to the borders of Iran, Armenia and Nakhchivan Autonomous Region of Azerbaijan. According to books, Noah's Ark landed on "Mount Ararat" after the flood, so the mountain was given a sacred meaning. Although there is no conclusion about the exploration of the remains of the Ark, this legend makes Mount Ararat full of mystery. For mountaineering enthusiasts, Mount Ararat is a challenging mountain. The climbing route usually starts from Dogubayazit, passes through the base camp at an altitude of 3,200 meters and the high camp at 4,200 meters, and then climbs to the top. The whole journey not only tests physical strength and endurance, but also is a deep experience of traveling through history and nature. Whether it is religious pilgrims, history lovers, or natural explorers, Mount Ararat attracts tourists from all over the world to explore with its unique geographical location, rich cultural background and magnificent natural scenery.Türkiye · Dogubeyazit
Gulbahar Hatun Mosque

Gulbahar Hatun Mosque

The Gulbahar Hatun Mosque is located in the neighborhood that bears its name, south of Ata Park. Built by Ottoman Sultan Selim I in the early 16th century (1514) in memory of his mother, the mosque grew into a complex encompassing a madrasah, soup kitchen, school, Quranic academy, and mausoleum. Most of these surrounding buildings have now been destroyed, with only the mausoleum to the east of the mosque remaining. This mosque exemplifies the early Ottoman style of building with a madrasah, and its layout is unique. The walls are exquisitely crafted, and the windows, nave, arches, and minaret are constructed from dark gray and whitish yellow stone. The nave consists of five compartments, surmounted by five small domes, and the marble capitals are decorated with stylized diamond patterns. The main hall, the prayer hall, is capped by a large single dome, flanked by two domed Sufi madrasahs (zawiyyas) on either side. The mosque's prayer niches are simply carved, while the pulpit is adorned with plant motifs and a niche with honeycomb ornamentation, both made of marble. The mausoleum, located east of the mosque, is the oldest building in the complex. Built in 1505 and renovated several times, it is an octagonal column structure topped by a dome. Windows are visible on all sides except the north, with arches decorated with colored stone. Above the arches are relief discs richly carved. A construction inscription is placed above the southeast entrance, and two Arabic initiatory prayers are embedded in the decorative patterns.Türkiye · Trabzon

The Surpağab Armenian Church was once the center of faith for Armenian Christians living in Diyarbakir. After the turmoil in the early 20th century, the Armenian population here declined sharply, and the church was once deserted. Today, the church has normal religious activities and has also been renovated.Türkiye · Diyarbakir

I think the Kars Castle is better preserved than other local castles. There is a place that is still relatively intact. That place may be popular with Romans, especially the rich Romans, so there are many castles here.

Here, it is said that you can climb the mountain during July, August, and September only if you have prior permission from the Turkish government and a guide. If you go in October, it is said to be the off-season. If you walk around Dogubeyazit, you will continue to see Mount Ararat.
