The entire excursion was very well organized. Everything worked perfectly, from pickup to return transport. The 2.5 hours allotted at Mount Vesuvius were perfectly sufficient. The walk from the parking lot is about 1 km (20 minutes) uphill. You also have 2.5 hours in Pompeii. This time is enough for a first impression. If you are very interested in the history, you should book a guide who provides detailed explanations, as the audio guide is rather sparse in its information. Nevertheless, it was very impressive.

Our guide Michael was amazing. He was super knowledgeable and engaging. He brought the story of Pompeii and Herculaneum alive, not just the tragedy but how they lived. Visiting these sites with an archeologist was worth it. Our driver Santolo was great! He got us safely to and back, and with cheerful attitude!

It is a fascinating experience. It The tour started on time. The guide was talking a little bit too fast for me. As English is not my native language I sometimes had a hard time understanding him. Other than that he was knowledgeable and tried to make sure we enjoyed the tour.
