Reviews: Bucharest to Dracula Castle, Peles Castle and Brasov Guided Tour

This tour was an absolute blast and also a lot to pack into a single day. Keep in mind that Peleș Castle is closed in November for cleaning so if that’s something on your bucket list, plan your trip to România for a different month. Luckily my friend and I didn’t mind too much and were happy seeing only Bran castle, Brașov, and Pelișor (the neighboring castle to Peleș.) If you’d like to get easy fast pass access to the castles, you must get a special pass from your tour guide while you are on the bus to the first location (Bran Castle.) you must bring cash to pay for this ticket, but I recommend bringing cash in general. The best thing to do is bring a bunch of 10 Euro notes to pay for the special pass and then a bunch of Romanian Lei (maybe about 200 for souvenirs.) The full pass is about 40 euro per person but I wouldn’t go on the tour without it as it is invaluable. My friend and I are students and were able to get a student price of 20 euro per person. Our tour guide Danny had a great sense of humor and allowed us the space to free roam and kept guidance to giving us meeting times and quick info dumps on the bus and in front of attractions. Even though some things he wanted to show us were closed, he had a great attitude and made the best of the whole trip. My only complaint, if it could be called one, was that our time in Brașov was a bit rushed which was understandable as Peleș is a bit far off and very crowded. If you do go on this tour, expect to be eating quick bites and snacks rather than a full sit down meal so that you don’t miss bus times.

What a lovely day - especially in the snow. Bran (Dracula) castle was FUN, the town & Xmas Mkt so entertaining. The Eclairs at the coffee shop/hotel next to Peles Castle were the best ever ! Well worth the long trip.

Reviews: Small-Group Day Trip to Dracula's Castle, Brasov and Peles Castle

Thoroughly enjoyed this small group tour and would definitely recommend it. Our guide Serban was excellent, as was our driver (sorry, can't remember his name). It was however a very long day, mainly due to heavy traffic. Peles castle is stunning but Bran castle is a bit underwhelming. Brasov is a beautiful quaint town, but very tourist filled.
