Reviews: Palacio Tango: Tango Show at the Piazzolla Theater

On Saturday night, my family and I went to the "Piazzolla Hall at the Tango Palace," a theater located inside the Güemes Gallery on Florida Street in downtown Buenos Aires. Both its name and the show pay homage to Astor Piazzolla: the Argentine bandoneon player, orchestra conductor, arranger, and composer considered one of the most important musicians of the 20th century and one of the greatest exponents of tango worldwide. We made a reservation just for the show, which includes two drinks of our choice, but for those who prefer, there's also the option of a dinner package. We arrived, announced ourselves, and were shown to our assigned table. The event then began on a central stage, featuring a large live orchestra, two excellent singers—one female and one male—and, of course, the dancers... simply breathtaking! The dance performance combined traditional salon tango, stage or fantasy tango, and contemporary styles, all danced with immense artistic skill and passion. Everything was fantastic; the Art Nouveau space was very elegant, the ambiance and atmosphere very pleasant, and the staff attentive. Although it's generally geared towards foreign tourists, as an Argentinian, I thoroughly enjoyed it and found it to be an excellent experience.★

Reviews: Skip the Line: Tango Porteño Only Show Ticket

It was a great show. Much better than the tango show I had few month ago. The dance is great. The music is amazing. I Will suggest anyone who only purchases the show, be there as early as you can. But those tickets only allow you sit upstair. You need to be there early to get the front row seats. They only allow you to bring your own water bottles.★

Absolutely incredible experience. Everything was delicious, high quality, and well thought out. Our hosts were outstanding, charismatic, funny, and informative. I've lived in Argentina for a total of 10 months and the experience gives you great insight into the fascinating Argentine culture. It's an amazing blend of fun and information with some competitive play tied in. I opted to add the wine cocktail class, which I wasn't sure about since I thoroughly enjoy wine as it is BUT the class was fun, the drinks were great, and I have a new opinion about wine cocktails.

This was a fabulous show! The orchestra, the singers, the Tango dancers, and the folk show were all incredible. We had excellent seats in the VIP section and did not have dinner. We felt that spending the money for the VIP seats was an excellent option for us and opted for a more simple dinner earlier. We had originally booked the early show and due to technical reasons had to reschedule for the late show or the early show the following day. This actually worked out better for us in the end anyway. It gave us time to walk around the city in the evening before the show started. I am also happy with our choice to have our own dinner. It looked like a good dinner, and people seemed happy with it, but it was very crowded, and we prefer a more intimate dining experience. ★
