Never having tried anything like this before, I was a bit apprehensive but I really needn't have worried. Ludger explained everything in detail before we got into the kayaks and really put me at my ease. It was great fun and the views of Heidelberg from the river were fabulous. Ludger stopped several times to point out places of interest and included lots of anecdotes relating to the history of the town (in German and English). It was all very enjoyable and I would definitely do it again, although next time I would wear gloves as the oars rubbed the skin between my thumb and forefinger a little, but maybe that's just me!

We really enjoyed the trip. When booking, I was initially worried that the drinks would run out quickly or that service would be slow. But it was very well organized, with fully stocked refrigerators and self-service. That was a good thing, as it was quite warm. We even got free coffee. The trip itself was very relaxed. The interior is air-conditioned, but when the weather is nice, you naturally want to sit outside. I counted eight covered outdoor seats. There could be more. We had the 10:30 AM departure, arrived a little late, and would have only had three-quarters of an hour until 1:15 PM. It would be nice if there were a return trip available between 1:15 PM and 4:15 PM. The time gap is quite significant. I would definitely do it again; I highly recommend it.
