Reviews: Cambridge - Shared Punting Tour
Guest User2024-08-17
This was an excellent tour and rounded off our day trip to Cambridge (one I hope of many). Jackson was very informative, knowledgeable, and able to answer all questions fired at him. Despite the many boats on the Cam it was,at times, quite a calming and peaceful journey, in amongst the glorious buildings and vistas, and sunshine! I loved the views, history and uncertainty of who was going to bump into us next - the amateurs having a go! 🤣. The punt was comfy, with plenty of space for 3 abreast, and with giant umbrellas to cater for rain or shine.

Our tour guide's name was Niamh, current graduate student at Cambridge gave a great tour - would recommend her!! She did a good job of sharing some of the history of Cambridge along with how current day Cambridge is like as a student without going into too much detail (perfect amount of information). She was very knowledgable and gave great instructions as we went along. She did a great job of answering our questions and accomodating the hard of hearing people (myself and one other lady in our group). We were very happy to have done the tour - learned a lot!!

It was extremely soothing and calming, our punt chauffeur was very skilled at pushing and handling the punt, and a great story teller which added life to the tour. Its very beautiful and scenic, especially on a sunny morning like today, with interesting history and fun stories. I highly recommend this tour and with Cambridge Punt Company. Thank you for your service! Had a great time.

Today I was lucky enough to enjoy a small group tour of just three, lead by our very knowledgeable guide Lucy. Lucy was engaging and took her time at stops to give insider knowledge and answer our questions. Lucy was kind enough to even go on a slight detour to show me the college my uncle attended. Thanks for a great tour!

Fantastic tour. A must go for any MIT fans and would recommend even for those who like me have little initial interest (my fiancé wanted to do this). Because of the tour we also were able to visit buildings that were otherwise locked on the weekend. I left feeling very inspired, in awe and wonder. It was also highly entertaining and educational! Loved as well the highlights of women scientists, the bits about the MIT hacks, and discussions about what the pedagogy is like. Vic the tour guide gave us very clear instructions on where to first meet up and clearly planned, refined and thought through a lot of great areas to highlight during the tour. I especially liked how she spoke off script and would answer every question we would throw at her. I appreciated what MIT does differently from other institutions of higher education. Plus she made it fun. Lots of jokes, interesting culture tidbits and kindness, while generally also keeping us on schedule. Would highly recommend the tour to anyone.
