Buying online was super easy; no paper tickets, just head to boarding. We spent four hours on the island, which was plenty of time to stroll to Pinky Beach, see the quoques, and have a beer overlooking the ocean before sailing. The quoques are mostly concentrated around the pier with its cafes and shops. There are quoques further afield, but they're fewer and tend to run away from people. So if you're looking for photos with quoques, there's no point in going too far.
