Reviews: Cashel: Rock of Cashel, Folklore Museum, and Town Tour
Guest User2025-07-23
Bernard at the Folklore Museum was very knowledgeable and passionate about the history of Ireland. our tour guide Maggie was delightful and showed us through town. the guide at the Rock of Cashel was not the best. Perhaps he was new. as he didn't seem to have answers to the questions asked by the group. I also felt the group was rather large. at least 30 people, which made it difficult to hear the guide speak at times
Reviews: Blarney Castle, Rock of Cashel and Cork City one-day tour | Depart from Dublin | admission ticket included

Although the price per unit of the tour seems a bit high, some of the places on the itinerary are really difficult to see in one day using public transportation, so I personally think it's quite worthwhile. Important note! While Blarney Castle and Cassel Rock are beautiful, I don't think they're places you need to spend too much time at. Seeing all three in one trip was just the right amount of time – not too short, not too long at each place. However, the time spent in Cork city at the end was indeed a little short, which was a bit of a shame.
Reviews: Blarney Castle Full-Day Tour from Dublin

Our guide Gerry and driver Thomas were both great. This was a very long day trip and Gerry managed to keep his energy up the entire time. If you go on this trip, a few things to note: One, it is indeed a very long day. Expect that going in and plan for long stretches on the bus. Two, considering how long the drive back is (3.5 hours with no sightseeing stops), plan to bring a book or an iPad loaded with a movie or show. If you’re doing this tour in late autumn, there will be no scenery to look at as it will be dark out on the ride to Dublin. Bring something to entertain yourself. If you bring a book, also bring a good book light since the lights on the coach may not work (ours didn’t). Third and finally, get to the meeting point a bit early to make sure you’re on the correct side of the street as lights change very slowly at the crosswalk near the meeting point.
