CITIC Hot Spring is small and charming; some of the smaller pools can be closed off, allowing a group of friends to enjoy them undisturbed. The hotel itself is quite basic, with outdated facilities. There are no waterfall or mountain climbing activities available; the hotel explained that it was closed due to construction.

The outbound flight was cancelled without prior notification, which immediately negatively impacted the impression. The local tour guide (for the Temple of Heaven, Forbidden City, and Summer Palace tour) was extremely enthusiastic and attentive – 32 thumbs up! Despite the entire group agreeing to change the itinerary, the guide's supervisor refused. They need to work on their humane approach; flexibility is always valuable!

Icebergs, pure clean lakes, freezing wild winds and getting wet as we traipsed to Tasman glacier. They provided poncho and umbrella and great commentary!
