Hibiscus Hotel is fantastic, very private, with a great beach and comfortable rooms. It's perfect for relaxing and not going anywhere. Summer is the best time to visit; in winter the sea is like the Huangpu River, but in summer it's a deep, clear blue. The snorkeling is just average, but the fireflies are absolutely magical, though there are very few left. I don't know if I'll see them again. The first hotel I stayed at was a very cost-effective 5-star hotel. Sabah probably has one of the most comprehensive hotel experiences in Southeast Asia, offering not only clear waters but also many other fun activities.Trip.com picks
