Reviews: Mount Fuji Hakone Owakudani and Lake Yamanaka 1-day tour, with complimentary Owakudani cable car, optional small group pickup and drop-off

A good trip is closely related to the driver. Our driver was enthusiastic and attentive, introducing many scenic spots along the way and answering our questions about customs from time to time. He arranged the itinerary and time reasonably and explained the precautions for sightseeing in great detail.

The guide was clear with instructions and she was very friendly. She showed us where to go and provided ample time for travellers to explore and take photos of the scenery and heritage.

Easy to redeem but unable to take the pirate ship due to strong wind. However, able to take the cable car, taking train and exploring Hakone is good enough.

Reviews: Mount Fuji Hakone autumn leaves 1-day tour · Lake Yamanaka · Lake Ashi · Owakudani · with complimentary Hakone Ropeway
Guest User2026-10-27
During my trip to Tokyo, I made a last-minute decision at 9 pm to join a Hakone day tour recommended by a friend, and luckily there were only two spots left. Our guide, Xiaoyu, kept replying to our messages and sending us important notes even late at night. The weather was perfect that day; we were tired of seeing Mount Fuji along the way, haha! What impressed me most was that the company, to ensure the trip's schedule was manageable, added a cable car ride down the mountain during the busiest time. The driver then took us on a winding journey along the mountain roads, reminiscent of Hakone's old post stations. With each turn, the scenery changed, like opening a blind box—beautiful and soothing. I can't wait to come back when the autumn leaves turn red! Finally, I want to thank our guide, Xiaoyu Will, again for providing timely medical assistance when he learned I had a sudden toothache. I hope to meet you again next time!

We had a wonderful experience with Eddie as our driver for our Hakone tour! He was professional, friendly, and incredibly knowledgeable. Throughout the trip, he shared lots of interesting information and insights about the area, which made the experience even more enjoyable and informative. One of the funniest highlights was that while the rest of us were catching up on some sleep during the drive, my friend was wide awake having an excellent and engaging conversation with Eddie! She learned so much and thoroughly enjoyed chatting with him. Eddie really went above and beyond to make our trip comfortable, enjoyable, and memorable. We truly appreciated his knowledge, patience, and great company. Highly recommend Eddie to anyone planning a tour of Hakone. Thank you, Eddie, for making our day so special!

Reviews: Japan One-Day Tour: Mt. Fuji, Hakone, Owakudani, Lake Yamanaka & Oshino Hakkai

My written review was flagged as plagiarism by the official platform, which is truly speechless. So I'll just have to point out the bad parts. First, lunch was listed as self-arranged in the itinerary, and I thought I could find my own place to eat. Instead, they took everyone to a restaurant called Kin-Fuji, which cost 3500 yen. I felt the food was completely overpriced. And next door was a place selling local specialties—isn't this like taking a tour group to a duty-free shop? Making money is fine, but not mentioning this in the itinerary beforehand is a big mistake.
