Reviews: Shiga tour: Lake Biwa valley · Lake Biwa observation + Shirahige Shrine, Omihachiman 1-day tour
Guest User2026-10-09
I think the good weather made the day tour even more satisfying. Guide Peggie was really kind. It was a tour that I thoroughly enjoyed at a leisurely pace. Other tours involve repeatedly getting on and off the bus at 5 or 6 locations, but on this tour, you only need to get on and off three times. Be sure to visit Lake Biwa and Shirasu Shrine; they are truly beautiful. I highly recommend this special day trip that you can only experience on an Osaka tour.

Overall, the day trip was a great experience. Our guide/driver, Kangfu, was punctual, the vehicle was clean, and the driving was smooth. He explained the background information about the attractions along the way, was familiar with the local routes, the time was well-planned, communication was smooth throughout, and he was very friendly, making the trip exceptionally worry-free. Highly recommended.

Installation is quick and easy. Simply scan the QR code on your phone to add the service beforehand, and you can connect to the network as soon as you arrive at your destination. The 3GB high-speed data per day is more than enough; in actual use, it's around 2GB per day.

Reviews: Kansai Shiga Tour: MIHO MUSEUM + Old Chikurin-in + Shirahige Shrine, Enjoy the Scenic Views of Lake Biwa
Guest User2026-10-05
A short day trip to the Miho Museum, the former Chikurin-in Temple, and the floating torii gates of Shirahira Shrine, though brief, left me with wonderful memories. Entering the Miho Museum, designed by I.M. Pei, and walking through a tunnel into a mountain retreat, the architecture blends seamlessly with nature, like a modern-day Shangri-La. The former Chikurin-in Temple is serene and elegant, its Japanese garden reflecting a tranquil and healing atmosphere, full of Zen spirit. At dusk, arriving at Lake Biwa, the vermilion torii gates float on the water, reflecting the sky and creating a breathtaking ambiance. The journey seamlessly connects art, Zen temples, and lake views, offering a comfortable pace. This short day allowed for an immersive experience of Shiga's unique scenery, with every view unforgettable, making it a truly worthwhile trip to the Kansai region.
