The tour was well organized. We were accompanied the entire way (from the lobby of our villa to the volcano, and back). Our guide, Dewa, worked very hard to make sure we got everywhere on time, avoiding all the traffic jams and, when necessary, making convenient stops at the store and restrooms. The guide accompanying us to the volcano was always there for us, telling us where the dangers were, helping us with warm clothing and masks, and taking great photos. Bottled water and snacks were provided throughout the tour. The snacks were modest, but we didn't come here to eat anyway 😂 Thanks to the whole team! We really enjoyed everything!

I highly recommend visiting the volcano and taking in the incredible beauty that reigns at the summit. The views are breathtaking; it feels like another planet. A huge thank you to our dear guide, Sigit, for such a fascinating journey to the summit of Ijen. Sigit is a wonderful person; he shared so many interesting things about the island of Java, the volcano, and Indonesian culture, and helped us take beautiful photographs. We were lucky to celebrate my birthday in such warm and wonderful company at the top of this magnificent volcano. Thanks also to our driver, Kadek Edi, who met us and brought us right on schedule. An unforgettable trip; you'll remember the volcano for the rest of your life, one of the most beautiful places you'll ever see.

Three hours sleep, one hour hike, zero regrets. Ijen does something to you that's hard to explain in a caption. The crater rim at dawn with clouds rolling below proper surreal. What I didn't expect was how good the tour organization was. WhatsApp confirmation the night before, guide waiting exactly where they said, small group of eight people max. My Swedish roommate from the hostel booked separately and had a worse experience. Details like that matter more than people think.
