It's a cool attraction. The guide barely speaks English, but there's an audio guide you can download to your phone in English, which is somewhat usable (the app tends to freeze and requires frequent resetting). The lake is beautiful, the boat is well-maintained and clean, and we managed to be the only passengers (I highly recommend booking the earliest boat trip; the next one was already packed), so I rate it a 9/10.

Chiara explained everything to us clearly and in detail, showed us the most interesting places, and gave us great tips on where to stop and what to see. It was obvious she had a lot of knowledge and passion, and at the same time she created such a friendly atmosphere that made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Later, she also recommended a few amazing spots which turned out to be absolutely worth visiting – real hidden gems! Thanks to her guidance we were able to discover the area better and spend our time in a truly special way. We are very satisfied and can wholeheartedly recommend her to everyone! Avoid the ticket lines and ferry crowds…this is the way to go! Our guide (Matteo) picked us up in Bellagio and gave a wonderful one hour tour of lake before dropping us directly at the villa. Tickets were ready upon our arrival. It was seamless. This may not be the least expensive way to coordinate a lake and villa tour but it is by far the least stressful! It was amazing!!
