The long bus tour to the river was well worth it. We saw many animals, including a very active sloth, several monkeys, and lots of lizards. Our guide, David, provided excellent information and even sent us some great photos from the tour. I didn't find the food in the restaurant particularly good, but that's a matter of taste.★

After visiting Monteverde five times, I am convinced that George is the best guide you will find in the area.
I used George as a guide for a solo trip a couple of years ago, and most recently while traveling in Costa Rica with my 15-month old and my mother and her two friends. George was so helpful with my baby, carrying my backpack while I carried my babe in a carrier. He was patient with my elderly mother and her friends, allowing us to rest and take a break when needed. He made sure our tours were accessible to my mom and her friends, while still seeing some of the most beautiful birds and animals. George was our guide for hanging bridges, a night tour, birding and a walk to the Continental Divide. He is a very talented photographer, so he will get great photos of you and your family and all of the beautiful things you see.
George is well-loved and respected in the community, which means when you come across other guides on your treks, they will tell him the location of where they have recently seen the hard to find animals, like the quetzal! Every time I visit Monteverde, I see new beautiful birds and animals because George is on top of his game. 🦜🌱🐍🌳🌙🦋★

A fantastic activity where we saw several sloths, frogs, and birds. The guide was very friendly and taught us a lot about these animals. 100% recommended
