I use it every time I'm in Thailand. You can extend the SIM card's validity - top up the account (for example, with a bank card through the app, or in cash at a 7-Eleven, or at AIS office) and use the internet packages available on the AIS website.★

I used to buy an esim with a number, but eventually I realized I didn't need a number and just the internet would be enough, and this option is also much cheaper. The internet hasn't let me down yet, and the reception is good!★
