Carlos was informative, friendly and able to answer our questions. He gave us a good insight into parts of Rochina. The tour is however, a tourist tour, the places we visited were set up for tourists.

Skip the line is 100% worth it. We went early about 7:30 am and there was already a line. Not a huge one but still a line. We were able to skip and head right to the front to board the train. Everyone was very nice. The views from Christ the Redeemer are spectacular! Because we went early we got a lot of nice shots without tons of people in the photos. But even with tons of people around it was just nice to be there and have this experience. I walked around the statute and prayed and took great pics of the views. Certainly get there early. But if you are not early GET skip the line. Also this was so simple and easy without feeling like you were gonna be scammed or something.

This sunset sailboat tour was incredible! Laiane was the best host from the moment we booked our trip until the end. She offered directions and tips for our trip before we arrived and helped navigate us to the pier via What’s App. They offered beer, cocktails, N/A drinks, as well as snacks and fresh fruit through the trip. The views of Sugar Loaf Mountain and Christ the Redeemer were amazing and the sunset was beautiful. We even got the opportunity to get out and swim which was surreal to be in the water during the sunset looking out at the city. The tour was everything it advertised and more!

Luis is very knowledgeable. He told us everything that we would want to know and answered all of our questions. He and is family are from the favela. He has first hand experience. He has outstanding English and is very friendly. I definitely recommend him!!

Everything about the experience was perfect. Even with imperfect and very windy conditions, all of our needs were cared for. The captain is very skilled and handled the boat with ease. The first mates Jessica and Gabriel were always asking if we needed anything. They helped provide food, drink, towels and blankets. And Daniel, the captain, shared with us plenty of history of Rio and showed us all around the bay. I would highly recommend this experience.


