Reviews: XUYAN Shanghai - Immersive Ancient Imperial Banquet|Dining + Costume Experience + "All Nations Paying Tribute" Themed Performance [Makeup/Photography/Portrait Services Available]
Guest User2026-05-06
Excellent dinner. Costume and makeup were carefully chosen, and all requests were taken into account. The photo shoot was generally good, but only three photos were free (three boys and three girls for a couple). Everything you want costs over 300 yuan each! I think that's too much! Overall, the photographer does a good job and takes decent photos. The food was beyond praise! The show was incredible. I highly recommend it!

Amazing! Beautiful performances and lots of delicious food! I got an SVIP seat, which is the middle of the first row. VIP is the first row. See the entrance in the photo.

Very beautiful, stylish, interestingly presented. The taste is good, but it could be better. My personal rating is 7 out of 10.

We attended the immersive show "Emperor's Feast Shanghai" and were thrilled! When booking, the specialists provided detailed advice and helped us choose seats near the stage. We arrived an hour early for a photo shoot with a costume makeover. We were greeted warmly, helped choose an outfit, and had our makeup and hair done. The photo shoot took place in 5-6 picturesque locations—the photos turned out spectacular. Please note: the price only includes 2 edited photos; additional photos are available for an additional fee. I recommend hiring a photographer, as they have professional lighting, but ask your friends to take photos with your phone. The show itself exceeded all expectations. They served about ten different treats throughout the evening. Everything was delicious! The portions were small, but there was so much that we were overeating. "Emperor's Feast Shanghai" is a wonderful combination of gastronomic pleasure and a spectacular performance. We definitely recommend it!
Reviews: Yu Garden New Chinese Tea Experience (Stunning Terrace Views of Yu Garden + Immersive Tea Ceremony + Variety of Tea Snacks + Premium Tea Selection)
Guest User2025-09-29
Cool experience! I bought the voucher and made my reservation for the next day over the chat. There was a bit of confusion over what I had booked when I got there, but they sorted it out. The woman who did the tea ceremony was very knowledgeable and explained so much about the Chinese attitude to tea and the traditional practices around tasting it and how many times you can brew it. Overall a good tasting experience, just be prepared for a hard sales push after. I had planned to buy some teas but I was not prepared for the price point. It may be because of the tourist area, but these are way more expensive than even the priciest tea sellers I've bought from back home. I didn't know enough to be sure if I was being price gouged, so I only bought the smallest amount. Just be forewarned and enjoy the ceremony!

Overall a very fun dress up/dining/ show experience! It felt a bit rushed as we had showed up at 9:45 and started hair, makeup and costumes and immediately went into photography (what it doesn’t tell you is, you get only 3 photos as part of the photo package) and trying to select ones you liked were difficult and our group paid for the extra photos we liked. We missed out on participating in the activities before the lunch experience (from what we could see it was playing games, making fans, and satchets, etc) as we wanted the opportunity to take our own photos. The story telling lunch experience was very fun to watch and the food was very filling and tasty. My parents also participated in the costume portion with the meal experience. A little pricey but overall, it was a fun experience to partake in!
