Before booking, I hesitated for a long time about whether to choose the Detian Waterfall + Mingshi Pastoral Garden package. Ultimately, considering the two scenic spots are quite far apart, about an hour's drive, which might mean I wouldn't get to fully enjoy Detian Waterfall and would be too tired, and since I was going to Guilin for rafting on the Li River and Yulong River anyway, I decisively gave up the package including Mingshi Pastoral Garden and chose the 4-hour Detian Waterfall package instead. It proved to be the right decision. This bus tour had over forty people, a bit too many. The tour guide, surnamed Huang, was a middle-aged man from Guangxi, around 40 years old, very experienced, and patiently explained things on the way. Because the itinerary was simple, the overall arrangement was quite good. The bamboo rafting at the waterfall was an optional extra, but the experience was excellent. There were also two Vietnamese lunches, which were quite good. The durian pastries and Vietnamese banknote collection albums sold near the bamboo rafts are optional purchases, the quality is okay. For other things, try to listen to the tour guide's advice and avoid being overcharged. Detian Waterfall truly lives up to its reputation as the fourth largest transnational waterfall in the world and the largest in Asia; it's very impressive. There's also a Sino-Vietnamese themed street where you can stroll, eat, and drink.

Tour guide was excellent. Though he spoke Chinese cause of major Chinese tourist but every necessary information shared with us using WeChat translator. When he informed about us as muslim, he arranged a very delicious halal lunch with extra care.

We were very satisfied with our day trip to Detian Waterfall and Mingshi Pastoral Area. The price included the waterfall entrance fee and shuttle bus within the scenic area. The driver was a beautiful and gentle young lady with excellent driving skills; there was no motion sickness or sudden braking throughout the trip. After the waterfall visit, we also went to the Blue Cave Cafe. Our driver, Yuanyuan, was very patient, stopping as close as possible to keep us out of the sun. At Mingshi Pastoral Area, we only went to the rice paddies. It was too hot and sunny, and the kids couldn't stand walking around. At the rice paddies, we had coffee, lay in the thatched huts with fans, and enjoyed the beautiful scenery – it was quite cool. It was a very nice short trip and very relaxing. Afterwards, they took us directly to Chongzuo South Station. Driver Yuanyuan was fantastic!

this 1 day tour is convenient. saves u the hassle of navigating around on your own taking public transport. pack your own snacks - have zero expectations on the lunch. and all is good.

I was thrilled. The guide was great; we communicated via WeChat. She took photos of me. The language wasn't a problem thanks to the translator. It was a great experience to go on a tour with locals. I even made friends with one couple.
