If you are visiting China and do not already have a Chinese mobile phone number, then you must have a eSIM card to move around, because China is a massive digital land!

I bought an eSIM card to test its functionality, a two-day 3GB plan. I scanned the code, entered the eSIM provider's name into my phone's hotspot, and everything worked. Google services, Meta, and YouTube all work, except for TikTok. But I found a solution: with the eSIM card enabled, I can turn on a VPN, then switch my internet connection to a Chinese SIM card, and the VPN will continue to work. I can access TikTok with the VPN. The prices are reasonable, but the speed is slower than advertised.

It's very convenient; the internet works well and has a good connection without interruptions. This was my first time using an e-SIM, and I had no problems activating it. You can always check your remaining data in the app. I used it in Heihe.
