Things to do in Zhangjiajie

In late October, we encountered the rainy season. Thankfully, the weather cooperated, and after two days, we could finally see Tianmen Cave. Unfortunately, the main cable car was closed, so we had to take Route C. The 990-step elevator and the mountain-penetrating elevator combined made my legs incredibly thin – the design was truly something else!

This was one of the easiest yet the most scenery activity we’ve done so far. There’s so many things you can do while you’re here. As soon as you enter, it’s not far until you see the glass bridge. No need for a long walk to see the glass bridge. Highly recommend!!

Great cave. I recommend ditching the guided tour if you don't understand Chinese and do a self guided tour. The place was intuitive and easy to get around, although be prepared for plenty of steps. The statues were lovely and inside the cave was nice and cool.

A few tips: book an early time slot to avoid the notorious queues — waits can stretch to two hours later in the day. Also, try to be among the first to board and stand right next to the front glass for the best views and photos. The ride only covers one direction, so plan your route accordingly. Overall, a smooth Trip.com booking and a must-do experience that lives up to the hype. Highly recommended!‌

The unique landscape is truly breathtaking; it's a filming location for Avatar. Even after the National Day holiday, there were still quite a few people, especially foreigners – Zhangjiajie has a certain magic. The scenic area management is acceptable; there are many shuttle buses, making it convenient to go up and down the mountain. However, some details like cleanliness could be improved.

We booked this route and really enjoyed the experience! Everything was well organized, convenient, and easy to follow, with plenty of interesting spots along the way.The weather wasn't the best, but that actually turned out to be a bit of an advantage, as there were far fewer people around. I personally loved the views, especially with the misty atmosphere, which made the scenery even more dramatic and beautiful.Overall, a very enjoyable experience and definitely worth doing. Would recommend!

Via Ferrata is considered the best in China. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't good this time, so I couldn't see a good backdrop; it was all clouds and fog. But it was still incredibly thrilling. If it's not a weekend or holiday, you can buy tickets directly at Qixingshan, which is relatively cheaper.

Incredible experience, what a day!! even though it was very foggy in the beginning after 1 hour the sky started to clear out and we managed to see the gate to heaven and some beautiful scenery. We started the day with clouds and we knew it wouldn’t be as clear and visible but we had an amazing time. Bought ticket for entrance at 12pm and we finished the whole walk around the mountain at 4:30. If it’s cloudy and foggy prepare to get wet so get dressed properly and wear a wet coat of take an umbrella with you. It’s freezing up there when there is no sun out!!!
