Wanwei Golden Beach

483 reviews
Wanwei Golden Beach is located on the Jing Minority Three Islands in Dongxing City, specifically on Wanwei Island, and is a natural seaside beach stretching over 10 km. It gets its name from the golden hue of its sand under the sunlight. The sand here is fine and soft, the beach is flat, and the water is clear with gentle waves. In the evening, the sunset dyes the beach and the sea in a golden hue. Compared to the crowded Beihai Silver Beach, this place is quieter and more pristine. On the mudflats after low tide, you can often see Jing fishermen bending over to dig for sand worms and rake for clams. If you are lucky, you might encounter the lively scene of fishermen pulling in their large nets. You can take a fishing boat out to sea to enjoy the breeze, or join the locals for clam digging and chasing small crabs on the mudflats; looking to the southwest, you can also see the water and sky scenery facing Vietnam across the sea. The casuarina shelterbelt along the shore and the island-circling embankment are lush and green, making them suitable for walking and cycling. If you get tired, you might want to listen to the melodious tunes of the Jing ethnic group's single-stringed zither.Dongxing · 19.4 km from downtown

Dongxing Guomen Scenic Area is a symbol of the national gate. It is a national first-class port where my country and Vietnam have cities that rely on each other. Generally, Chinese and foreign tourists who come to Dongxing must go to the port. There is a saying that "If you don't go to the port, you won't visit Dongxing". Dongxing Guomen Scenic Area mainly carries out sightseeing and shopping in the national gate tourist area. It is a shopping paradise and a national gate destination for future tourism. The goal is to build a French arcade street, a tourist commodity street, a shopping city, an international tourist distribution center, and a Sino-Vietnamese Friendship Park. The scenic area consists of three major sections: Sino-Vietnamese Friendship Park, the port pedestrian street, and the Chen Jitang Memorial Hall. The three sections are connected by the Beilun River at the border with Vietnam, and the port style is very prominent.Dongxing · 1.2 km from downtown

Shiwandashan National Forest Park is located in the southern part of Shangsi County. It has a quiet environment and a pristine forest landscape. It is surrounded by continuous mountains, flowing springs and green forests, and the scenery is very charming. There are two main routes when visiting the Attraction. One is leading to the "Sleeping Buddha of Nanshan" (named so because when you look at Nanshan from here, the outline of Nanshan looks like a giant Buddha sleeping on its back), and the other is leading to the "Viewing the Sea at Shishan" (named so because the peak is the top of Shishan Mountain, where you can have a panoramic view of the sea view of Beibu Gulf). Most tourists will choose the second route. However, the distance from the gate of the Attraction to the top of the mountain is quite far. It takes about 3.5 hours to reach the top, and currently it is only accessible on foot. Tourists who want to reach the top are advised to set off early. If it is already late, it is recommended to go down the mountain immediately even if you have not reached the top of the mountain. If you choose the route to "Lion Mountain Sea Viewing", even if you don't reach the top of the mountain, the many scenic spots along the way will make you feel that the trip is worthwhile. The many naturally formed bathing pools along the way are good places to play in the water, and scenic spots such as the Dragon Robe Tree, the Love Net, and the Sancha River are also very charming.Shangsi · 31.9 km from downtown

Dongxing Port is situated on the banks of the Beilun River, the boundary river between China and Vietnam, facing Mong Cai, Vietnam, across the river. The Beilun River Bridge, which spans the river, connects the two places and serves as an important land port and border trade channel on the China-Vietnam border. The five-star red flag flies high in front of the building, and the streetscape of Mong Cai and the Vietnamese port buildings on the opposite bank are clearly visible. You can truly experience the border atmosphere of being separated by a river and looking across at two countries without crossing the border, and many tourists make a special trip here to feel the solemnity of standing before the national gate. Beneath the nearby Beilun River Bridge stands the Great Qing Qinzhou Boundary Monument No. 5. With the establishment of the new Boundary Monument No. 1369, the old monument has become a historical symbol, but it remains a popular photo spot for tourists. The Ho Chi Minh Pavilion nearby was built to commemorate Ho Chi Minh's visit to Dongxing. Shops and stalls along the street are filled with Vietnamese specialties and traditional goods. Many Vietnamese border residents set up small stalls here to sell Vietnamese snacks and various specialty items, allowing you to experience a rich Vietnamese atmosphere without crossing the border.Dongxing · 1.4 km from downtown

Leshan Ancient Fishing Village is situated on the coast of the Qisha Peninsula in Fangchenggang. It is a small village on a peninsula extending into Beibuwan and is one of the best-preserved ancient fishing villages in Guangxi. The village features mottled stone houses interspersed with ancient blue brick walls, and it still retains watchtowers built for surveillance in the past, with traces of time faintly visible throughout the alleys. In front of the village lies an open shallow beach and mudflats. Mangroves grow in continuous stretches along the coast, and wooden boardwalks wind through the forest into the sea, connecting seaside viewing spots like the Sea-Viewing Pavilion and the Tide-Watching Platform. At high tide, you can see the blue sea and red mangroves, and waves crashing against the reefs. When the tide recedes, the mudflats are exposed, making it the perfect time for beachcombing. Digging for sand worms, picking clams, and catching small crabs are classic activities on these mudflats. Villagers make a living by farming and catching seafood such as sand worms, oysters, and mud crabs. The beach is filled with fishing boats. In the early morning, you can often see fishermen heading to the sea with baskets, and fish fillets and dried shrimp drying in front of the old houses. The authentic atmosphere of fishing life is palpable, and when you are tired from exploring, you can taste fresh seafood just brought ashore at the local fishing restaurants. In the evening, head to the Tide-Watching Platform or the Moon-Inviting Platform to wait for the sunset over the sea, slowly bringing the day to a close.Fangchenggang · 20.1 km from downtown

Bailang Beach

Bailang Beach is located on the Jiangshan Peninsula in Fangchenggang and is named after the rows of white waves that often roll in before the beach. The sand here is white with black, appearing almost dark brown. When the sun shines on it, the dark beach surface contrasts with the snow-white waves, earning it the name "black sand, white waves." This type of black-gold beach is rare along the coastline in China. The beach is wide and flat, stretching for several km. It looks even more expansive after low tide, and the sand feels fine and soft under bare feet. Locals love to come here on holidays to splash in the water, play in the sand, and play beach volleyball; bury their bodies in the black sand warmed by the sun to work up a sweat; or bring small buckets and shovels after low tide to dig for snails and catch crabs in the tidal pools. When the beach is flat and the waves are gentle, swimming is relaxing and pleasant. As night falls, the nearby fishing villages and food stalls come alive, and Beibuwan seafood such as sand worms and flower crabs are worth a try.Fangchenggang · 17.7 km from downtown

They are ravines and vertical and horizontal, with various shapes, most of which are reddish-brown. Red Cliff". The sea water of the strange rock beach is also relatively clear, but there are few people here, and the reefs by the sea are slightly slippery, so it is not recommended to play in the water. The Ten Thousand Mountains are truly delightful. Waterfalls cascade down the mountainside, forming numerous pools. Right at the entrance to the scenic area is a large medicinal pool, cool and refreshing – a truly soothing place to soak in on a hot summer day. Camping is available nearby; RVs or tents are both fine, costing only 30 yuan per night.

When you come to Bailang Beach, you have actually come to Wanwei Golden Beach, which is quite large. Walking from one end to the other, I can feel the beauty of the beach and the changes of the beach. I can see many small crabs crawling on it and a small dead fish lying on it. Local fishermen said that they will go to the other end of the beach to catch squids at night. This is my favorite activity.

Standing at the Dongxing Port National Gate Scenic Area, the five-star red flag flutters in the blue sky, the "China Dongxing" boundary marker stands majestically, and the China-Vietnam Friendship Bridge, like a giant steel dragon, spans the Beilun River, connecting the territories of the two countries. This is the southwesternmost border gate of the motherland's mainland coastline, separated from Mong Cai, Vietnam by only a hundred meters. Every inch of this land bears the imprint of "the majesty of a great power." Standing before the boundary marker and looking back, behind me lies a vast landscape, and before me, exotic scenery unfolds. The solemnity of the border and the strength of the motherland strike the heart at this moment!

-- READ THIS FOR FULL TRAVEL DETAILS --We did this trip without much information available online, so we might as well now share what we learned.GETTING THERE: The easiest starting point is Shangsi (上思) Town with many nice hotels to stay overnight. From there you can either get a driver to come here or take a local bus. We also asked around about renting an E-Scooter, but were recommended against that, because it is quite far. The bus leaves from 明江市场(西门) bus station (not the main bus station!), but at the other side of the street (in front of a pharmacy). It leaves at random timings (about every 20-45 minutes probably), so just go there early and wait for the next one. It's 10 Yuan per person, takes about one hour and will end right at the entrance of the park.GETTING BACK: The last bus will leave from the same spot at 4PM. Don't miss it :)FACILITIES: There are plenty of restaurants, small shops and a toilet around the ticket office (one ticket is 35 Yuan). Make sure to stack up in everything you might need: We did not see other toilets/ shops/ restaurants within the park, except for some herbal speciality souvenirs.THE SIGHTS: We were pleasengly surprised by the beautiful scenery and the trekking trails. We went on a Sunday during Chinese summer holidays and still there were very few other people. The nature is beautiful and you can walking next to a nice river stream.HIKING: We started going up a mountain peak (black path on the right side of the map). The path was super nice and lead straight through the jungle/ bamboo forest. Be aware though, that there are A LOT of steps to climb! Also, there is a sign at the path staring that the mountain round path takes 4 hours, so plan enough time.SWIMMING/ PLAYING IN THE WATER: A blessing after hiking! The water was just perfect: Nice and refreshing & super clean. Once you pass the second bridge there is even a natural swimming pool (slightly deeper water) with an improvised changing room for 1 Yuan.

When I traveled to Dongxing with my girlfriend, one place I must visit was the Dongxing Port. After all, passing this place is considered to be out of the country. Although the port is not open now, you can still see from going out that the entire port is well built. Compared with the port on the opposite side, our port is much more prosperous and developed. I asked the staff how to go to the opposite side, and the staff replied that it is better to stay here.

Although we came a little early, I don't feel sorry! Although we can't see the ebb and flow of the tide, at least we can go to the beach to play. When the tide is low, you can see sea shells on the beach. Along the long plank road, the rocks covered with shells are really cool!

The sky is really blue. It was too hot the day we went, so we didn't play outside for long. It was great~ I picked up shells and conchs of all sizes on the beach, picked out the right size and put them in this grid. It's like a miniature ocean museum, both beautiful and meaningful~

The same rocky beach as Weizhou Island, you only need to pay the parking fee to unlock it. Compared with Weizhou Island, which has both boat tickets and island fees, the cost performance is simply too high! The scenery is beautiful when the weather is good! The photos are super good! And the sea water is very clear and clean! It's the legendary glass sea!

It is recommended to prepare at least half an hour in advance for rafting About ticket purchase~~ We can only pick up tickets 2 hours after placing an order, so you must buy them in advance before departure! ! ! About the store~~ If you forget to bring something In other scenic spots, it is a single-choice question, but in Jiulongtan, you can do multiple-choice questions (choice difficulty emmm...) About rafting equipment~~ *Prepare a change of clothes *It is strongly recommended to wear shoes with straps. If you wear slippers, there is a high chance that they will be carried away by the current~ *Prepare sunscreen clothes. When the wind blows through your wet body, it is also very sour~Don't catch a cold, friends and girls *Waterproof mobile phone case; if you find a chance, take a few beautiful photos as a souvenir About storage~~ Before preparing to start rafting, you can store your belongings in the locker of the scenic spot, 15 yuan/time; About protection~~ The scenic spot provides protective helmets and life jackets/elbow and knee pads (no need to collect them separately) Fee); for safety reasons, each strap of the life jacket should be tied firmly. If you can't find the front, back, left, or right, you can ask your friends or staff to help. About eating~~ There are restaurants in the scenic area and farmhouse restaurants outside. Rafting online The scenic area bus took us to the starting point. The starting point is relatively high, so it is equivalent to being on the mountain. When the bus stops, you get off the bus and queue up to get on the boat. Before getting on the water, the staff will explain the precautions, that is, don't panic when something happens, take out your mobile phone first... (Ahem, I went to the wrong set), in short, you must pay attention to personal safety! Two people in a boat, sitting face to face, the staff pushed the boats down the water, and I felt like I was being thrown into dumplings... The boat went into the water, and the cool spring water "ran" into the boat, which was so refreshing~ The boat slowly swung to the gate, and I caught a glimpse of a drop that I couldn't see the bottom of (angle problem), thinking to myself, is it really okay to come to such an exciting place at the beginning! ! ! After waiting, the sluice gates were officially opened. The boats in front of us were drifting down with screams, and the boats in front were getting fewer and fewer. Finally, it was our turn. We took a deep breath and shouted 123! The boats hit the waves, the waves hit my face, and the 3-meter drop in the water was moving away from me. WOW, super exciting! Super cool! Going down the rushing stream, the mountain spring water was cool and clear. Even if there were many large rocks visible to the naked eye in the river, there would be no feeling of being hit; there were many places shaded by trees along the way, so it was not as sunny as imagined; the whole rafting took more than an hour, and we drifted directly back to the bathing position; there were hot water showers in the scenic area, 10 yuan/person; Jiulongtan rafting can be the C position in Guangxi rafting. In addition to the many drops and excitement throughout the whole process, the water quality is also great!
