Ishigaki Island is about 420 kilometers southwest of Naha, the main island of Okinawa, and is the main island of the Yaeyama Islands. It is said that in order to avoid typhoons, the houses on the island are surrounded by stone walls, hence the name "Ishigaki". Ishigaki Island has a circumference of about 90 kilometers and is characterized by many mountains. Ishigaki Island has many marine attractions. The seabed of Baibao is clear and transparent, covered with colorful corals, attracting the attention of the whole world. In this lush virgin jungle with tropical plants such as mangroves, there is the island's precious ecosystem. Ishigaki Island is vast and sparsely populated, and public transportation after leaving the urban area is relatively inconvenient. If you want to travel around the headland spots on Ishigaki Island, it is recommended to rent a car or sign up for a local tour group.Ishigaki · 7.6 km from downtown

Maybe Ishigaki is the beautiful scenery on the island. The beach is white and delicate, and the sea water is dreamy, just like the Maldives. There are hundreds of species of coral under the sea. Around the coral, there are large and small tropical fish of all kinds, and you can go out to sea in a glass boat to see the coral and fish. The bottom of the glass boat is a whole piece of transparent glass, which is a small boat that takes tourists to watch underwater corals and tropical fish. It takes about 30 minutes to go to sea at a time, and each person is 1030 yen, or more than 60 yuan.Ishigaki · 12.3 km from downtown

About 40 minutes drive from the city. The red tile roof on the high platform is the observation platform. You can see the Hirakubo Peninsula in the distance. The bright red hibiscus flowers, the coral reef sea, and the wind coming out of the face, here concentrate the ultimate beauty of Ishigaki Island. What you can see when you look down is Hunakuya-(Funakuya), which refers to the scene when fishermen crossed the river once. In addition, the starry sky is also highly recommended.Ishigaki · 20.8 km from downtown

Taketomi Island has sandy and rocky beaches where you can enjoy swimming and diving. Apart from Kondoi Beach, there are no public facilities here.Taketomi Town · 6.9 km from Ishigaki

Kondoi Beach is a very good beach in Taketomi Island. The sea water is very transparent and the sand is particularly soft and soft. As far as the eye can see, a sea blue extends to the sky. At low tide, you can wade and hike to the sandbar in the sea, which is a lot of fun. There are restrooms, changing rooms and other rental facilities by the beach, as well as a picnic area. Since the waves are relatively smooth, it is very suitable for sea bathing and snorkeling.Taketomi Town · 8.1 km from Ishigaki

I visited Ishigaki island in May 2024. It was rain all day but got sunny after all next day. It is beautiful island, just super humid and strong sunshine but if you like that kind of weather, it is perfect place to be.

📍Kabira Bay, Ishigaki Island I was able to go on a beautiful day, and I was amazed to see the scenery I always see in brochures unfolding before my eyes. It was so beautiful that I felt like I was looking at a painting 💙 It was very relaxing and I definitely want to go back.

From the observation deck, the emerald green sea and white sandy beach stretched out before us, and the panoramic view of the ocean on both sides was breathtaking! The breeze was pleasant, and there was a roof so we could enjoy the scenery at our leisure, avoiding direct sunlight. The walking paths were well-maintained and easily accessible, making it safe even for families with children. Furthermore, there were telescopes available for use for just 100 yen, allowing us to clearly see distant reefs and ships, which was another fun feature.

The island is large enough that you can easily get around on foot. Time flows slowly in the traditional Ryukyu scenery, making it the perfect place to soothe your tired body and mind.

The shallow sea and clear water were so clear that it was hard to tell where the water ended and the land ended.

Kaiji Beach is famous for its star sand. It's much harder to find star sand than it was 20 years ago, but it's a lovely beach where you can relax. There were lots of hermit crabs (lol).

The park is very beautiful, with mountains and sea. On one side is the green mountains, and on the other side is the vast sea. The scenery is really beautiful. There are not many tourists in the park, and the beautiful mountains and waters are worth visiting.

270 million years!? Ibaruma Sabichi Cave, also used in Ayumi Hamasaki's music video Actually, I was heading for Hirakubo Eco Road up ahead, but I ended up in a completely different place and got lost...🚗💦 People in the area told me that Hirakubo Eco Road isn't paved, so it's better not to rent a car! I gave up and decided to go and see "Ibaruma Sabichi Cave" since I'd come all the way here. I stopped off there (sorry for being so casual💦) You can't get through here unless it's low tide, so it wasn't on my list💦 But I must have gotten lost because they called me to go here instead! lol At the entrance, I was shown Ayumi Hamasaki's music video. I see, it's a power spot! The cave was small and I was able to see it in about 20 minutes. I was wearing flip-flops, so I dipped my feet in the water to get some energy. It's shallow, so I wanted to go deep into the water and dive, but I had to hold back because I didn't want to cause any trouble if something happened. 🙄 I wanted to enjoy the view from the dive. I'm sure there's a good time to do it. If you're interested, please come. 👌 Summary 🟥You can dive at low tide. 🟥Even if it's not low tide, you can put your feet in with flip-flops. 🟥It takes about 20 minutes to go around, but it takes a bit of courage. 🟥Power spot Ibaruma Sabichi Cave 185-44 Ibaruma, Ishigaki City, Okinawa Prefecture TEL: 0980-89-2121 20 minutes from New Ishigaki Airport 40 minutes from Remote Island Terminal (city) Parking: Available
