Wuyishan National Park

Wuyishan National Park is located in the northern section of the Wuyishan mountain range in northwestern Fujian, stretching across the border area between Fujian and Jiangxi provinces. It is one of China's first established national parks, and Wuyishan itself was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site for both culture and nature as early as 1999. The park was formed by integrating the former Wuyishan National Nature Reserve and Wuyishan Scenic Area: the Tongmu area in the north focuses on ecological conservation and scientific research, preserving a rare intact mid-subtropical forest ecosystem at this latitude. The main peak of the Wuyishan range, Mount Huanggang, is also located here, and this core area does not offer regular tourism activities. Sightseeing activities are concentrated in the scenic areas along both banks of the Nine-bend Stream, namely the four major sections: Tianyou Peak to Taoyuan Cave, Nine-bend Stream to Wuyi Palace, One-line Sky to Tiger Roaring Rock, and Dahongpao to Water Curtain Cave. The attractions in the scenic area are relatively scattered with considerable distance between them. A leisurely visit typically requires two to three days. If you only have one day, start by ascending Tianyou Peak for a panoramic view of the emerald waters and crimson mountains along the Nine-bend Stream, then take a bamboo raft downstream from Xingcun Wharf. Along the way, you'll pass landmarks like Jade Maiden Peak, Great King Peak, cliff inscriptions, and suspended boat coffins. The rafting journey ends at Wuyi Palace, making it an ideal classic route. Tea enthusiasts may prefer spending time on the leisurely Rock Bone Floral Trail between Dahongpao and Water Curtain Cave. This gentle path connects core Wuyi rock tea production areas like Liuxiangjian and Huiyuankeng, offering a uniquely fragrant experience. With two days, you can cover all four major sections. For more time, consider visiting the ancient tea merchants' residences in Xiamei Village, the starting point of the ancient Tea Horse Road, or exploring the ruins of the Minyue King's City near Chengcun Village—the latter also being part of Wuyishan's world heritage site. Bamboo rafting is very popular, so please make arrangements in advance during peak season. To get close to the ecological heart of the park, you can take the Wuyishan National Park No. 1 scenic route. Places like Moon Bay and Qinglong Waterfall are suitable for self-drive or private charter. As for food, street snacks like flat meat dumplings and Vietnamese noodles are common, while Langu smoked goose and local dishes cooked with alpine bamboo shoots and mushrooms are also worth trying.China · Wuyishan

Hongcun Scenic Area is a typical Huizhou ancient village, and renowned as a “village of Chinese paintings.” Visit Hongcun to see the ancient irrigation system, including its lakes Yuezhao (Moon Pond) and Nanhu (South Lake). Visitors can also observe the “three carvings” of Huizhou: brick carving, stone carving, and wood carving. With the same detail as paper cutting, the human landscape blends perfectly with the natural landscape. The scene is perfect for visiting students of art to sketch.China · Yi County

Taoyangli Historical and Cultural District

11.7k reviews
Taoyangli Historical and Cultural District is located in the heart of Jingdezhen's old town, a historic neighborhood that grew around the ruins of the imperial kiln from the Ming and Qing dynasties. The old saying "Taoyang thirteen li, with tens of thousands of households" refers to this area. The imperial porcelain used by the royal families of the Ming and Qing dynasties was exclusively produced by the imperial kiln here, while rejected tribute items were shattered and buried on-site. The layers of underground porcelain fragments share the same origin as the collections in the Palace Museum, making this place often referred to as the key to understanding the porcelain capital. The core attractions of the district are concentrated around the ruins of the Taoyangli Historical and Cultural District and the imperial kiln museum. The ruins of the Taoyangli Historical and Cultural District have now been transformed into an archaeological site park, preserving relics such as kilns and workshops. The Longzhu pavilion, perched atop Zhushan hill, has been the iconic structure of the imperial kiln since the Ming dynasty and later became the symbol of Jingdezhen. The Zhushan hill beneath it was formed by layers of discarded porcelain fragments from imperial kilns throughout history. Nearby, the imperial kiln museum draws inspiration from traditional egg-shaped wood-fired kilns, featuring multiple brick arches arranged in a staggered layout. Many exhibits in the museum are restored from porcelain fragments unearthed at the site, including the Ming dynasty blue-and-white dragon jar—a signature exhibit pieced together from tons of discarded dragon jar fragments. Adjacent to the museum, the Xu family kiln, an old wood-fired kiln, still operates periodic firings. During kiln openings, the gate is wide open, allowing visitors to watch artisans retrieve freshly fired porcelain from saggars. The district also features winding alleyways lined with kiln-brick residences, guild halls, porcelain shops, and remnants of modern ceramic industry. The restored South goods street and Red shop street now host old teahouses, taverns, music bars, and craft workshops where you can observe traditional processes like clay throwing and porcelain painting, with some workshops offering hands-on experiences. It's recommended to set aside half a day for the visit—start with the kiln site and museum, then meander through the streets around Zhongshan north road and Longgang lane, where many historic courtyard houses hidden in deep alleys await patient discovery.China · Jingdezhen

Qingchuan Pavilion is located on Hanyang's Tortoise Mountain and faces the Yangtze River, across the river from the Yellow Crane Tower. Qingchuan Pavilion was built in the Ming Dynasty and was named after the Tang Dynasty poet Cui Wei. The pavilion as it exists today was rebuilt in the 1980s according to historical photos. The scenic area consists of three main buildings: Qingchuan Pavilion, Wuhan Dayu's Palace, and Tiemenguan. There are also a number of other attractions such as various stone tablets and monuments, decorated archways, and cloisters, all rich in classical Chinese charm. It is very pleasant to climb up to the pavilion, feel the wind from the river, and enjoy the view of the river. The classical architecture and the greenery here complement each other perfectly, and the beautiful scenery has caused this to become a popular spot for wedding pictures in Wuhan.China · Wuhan

The old section is the former commander center of the Nanchang Uprising, and the new section is an exhibition hall built in recent years. Items on exhibition in the museum include weapons, ammunition, clothes, and binoculars that were once used during the uprising. Taking a bamboo raft trip offers beautiful views of both sides of the river. The journey takes about 90 minutes and is entirely by manual pole-pole propelling. The water quality is excellent, crystal clear. Climbing Tianyou Peak requires considerable physical strength; I saw three people faint and need resuscitation along the way. Those lacking stamina are advised against climbing.

The journey from the Sands Cableway up to the Hong Kong Capital Cableway down takes about 5 hours. The scenery is quite nice, with sunshine, mist, and wind but no rain, which is lucky. The hotel brochure recommends taking the Hong Kong Capital Cableway up and the Sands Cableway down, as the entire route is downhill and less strenuous, but it's also more hard on the knees. Overall, it's still worth a visit.

Hongcun is definitely worth a visit. The lighting was great in the afternoon, and the photos taken at Nanhu Lake were particularly beautiful. The golden rice paddies outside the scenic area exceeded my expectations. Hongcun is a great place for taking photos and checking in.

The exhibited artifacts were quite good; I've also been to joint exhibitions organized by museums like the Hunan Provincial Museum. The Kremlin artifacts here are well-prepared and thoughtfully designed. However, the souvenir and merchandise section was rather boring. I was thinking of buying a pendant or something, but that saved me some money.

A spontaneous short trip took me to Taoyangli and the Imperial Kiln Museum. I highly recommend that the museum offer guided tours; otherwise, it's mostly just taking photos and checking off the list, making it difficult to understand the stories behind the porcelain and resulting in a less fulfilling visit. Jingdezhen's streets and alleys are intricate and the attractions are scattered, so riding an electric scooter is a convenient and easy way to get around, perfect for a leisurely stroll through the porcelain capital.

The scenic area is filled with the fragrance of osmanthus blossoms. From the top, you can enjoy panoramic views of the Yangtze River Bridge and the Yellow Crane Tower. At the very top, watching the ships on the Yangtze and the cars and trains on the bridge, with the breeze blowing, is very pleasant, and it's not too crowded. The scenic area isn't large; a leisurely hour is about right to appreciate the scenery. Qingchuan Pavilion and Guishan Scenic Area are directly connected by the Iron Gate Pass, which leads to the West Gate of Guishan. Climbing the mountain and enjoying the breeze and osmanthus fragrance is a wonderful experience.

During the National Day holiday, the ticket price is 60 yuan. Escape the hustle and bustle of the city and climb Guanyin Rock. The air is fresh and rich in negative oxygen ions. There is a suspended cable car and a boardwalk at the top of the mountain. The journey is 2.5 kilometers long and is similar to climbing the Three Cascades Spring in Lushan. However, the management needs to be improved. There is a lack of humanistic care, and there are no places to take shelter from the rain or rest along the way.

The Nanchang Uprising Memorial Hall was established in 1956 and officially opened in 1959. The museum is located in the former site of the Nanchang Uprising Headquarters and manages 5 revolutionary sites. The basic exhibition in the museum displays 509 pictures and charts of various types and 407 cultural relics. It vividly reproduces the glorious history of the Nanchang Uprising and shows the process of the people's army from small to large and from weak to strong. It is a national first-class museum and a national patriotism education demonstration base, attracting a large number of tourists to visit and learn every year.

The peaks resemble lotus blossoms, shrouded in mist and clouds; Jiuhua Mountain in the rain looks like a traditional Chinese ink painting. The Tiantai and Huatai platforms offer expansive views, and the plank roads connecting the peaks are perfect for taking photos. However, heavy fog on rainy or foggy days is a bit of a disappointment; it's recommended to visit on a sunny day for a better experience.

Take your children to experience the strength of our motherland and the hard-won nature of our lives. Although the ships are just docked, it is not easy to walk around on them, especially since the space inside is narrow and it is easy to bump into things or fall. This will give them a better understanding of the hardships faced by soldiers.
