Welcome to Kilkenny Castle and Park, few buildings in Ireland can boast a longer continuous history of use than Kilkenny Castle. This castle was built shortly after the Norman conquest of Ireland. Over 800 years, it has been rebuilt, expanded, and modified to adapt to changing environments and purposes. Today, Kilkenny Castle is open to visitors year-round, essentially a Victorian-era reconstruction of a 13th-century defensive fortress. Every year, thousands of visitors come to explore this magnificent country house, strolling through its 50-acre rolling parkland with mature trees and abundant wildlife. Other highlights include the formal terraced rose garden, woodlands, and man-made lake, all added in the 19th century. Here you'll also find a tea room, playground, and several orienteering trails for visitors to enjoy.Kilkenny · 510m from downtown

Kilkenny is located 120 kilometers southwest of Dublin. It is a relatively small city in Ireland and one of the most famous attractions in Ireland. There are many winding paths here, which better retain the medieval style. There is a magnificent Kilkini Castle in the small town, which is a European-style building and is worth seeing.Kilkenny · 137m from downtown

The castle is very small. If you have been to Windsor and Edinburgh Castle, there is no need to go there. There is nothing to see or take pictures.
