St. Barbara´s Cathedral

St. Barbara´s Cathedralstands on a high plateau at the edge of the old town of Kutna Hora. Built for St. Barbara, the patron saint of miners, it is the embodiment of the wealth and ambition of this medieval silver mining town. In the 1380s, citizens who had grown rich from silver funded the construction of the church, hoping it would rival St. Vitus Cathedral in Prague. The originally designed volume was nearly twice its current size. Construction was interrupted several times by the Hussite Wars. In the mid-16th century, as the silver mines were exhausted and funds ran dry, it was halted with the west end closed off only by a temporary wall. It was not until the early 20th century that the Neo-Gothic facade was added, spanning over 500 years of intermittent construction. Today, as part of the historic town center of Kutna Hora, it is listed as a World Heritage site.

Sedlec Ossuary

The Bone Church is located in Kutna Hora, a small town 68 kilometers east of Prague. It was built in the 14th century. It looks like a very ordinary Gothic building, but the interior decoration is made of human bones. Therefore, it is not so much a church as it is a "human bone museum". In the basement of the church, there are the remains of about 40,000 people who died of the plague.

Italian Court Kutna Hora

The Italian Court is a complex Gothic building located in Kutná Hora, Czech Republic. The courtyard was originally the central mint, and the main area for coinage is located around the courtyard. For many centuries, the Italian courtyard was the economic center of the country, containing the Royal Mint, as well as the temporary residence of a Bohemian king. The courtyard dates back to the late 13th century, when it assumed the functions of a castle, silver ore storehouses and fortifications. After the fire of 1770, the Royal Mint moved away and the Town Hall moved into the Palazzo Italia.

The Czech Silver Mine Museum was originally a 15th-century royal palace housed in 15 actual buildings "Little Castle". Here people can still experience the glory of Kutna Hora. The museum displays Kutna Hora's source of wealth - the history of the silver mine. In addition to the exhibition, you can also bring a helmet to enter the 500-meter-deep medieval mine, and participate in a one-and-a-half-hour "Silver Road Tour" to the small town.
