Dalian Sunasia Ocean World

7.3
4.5/5
19.8k reviews
Dalian Sunasia Ocean World is located in Xinghai Park, next to Xinghai Square. It is one of China's early-built immersive ocean-themed parks, featuring a signature underwater tunnel over 100 m long. The venue consists of five main areas: Ocean World, Polar World, Coral World, Galaxy Star Sea and the Amazing Tower, along with three major shows: the romantic mermaid fairy tale water show "Romance at Dolphin Bay," the dual beluga underwater performance "Legend of the Beluga," and the hilarious human-animal interaction show "Sea Lion Splash." All venues are within walking distance, making it ideal for a half-day or full-day leisurely visit. Featured viewing products include: the Antarctic penguin breeding base - Antarctic penguin island. The attraction keeps track of the latest trends in theme parks and the needs of travelers' consumption experiences in real time, continuously updating and improving its software and hardware. It integrates cultural and creative living, ocean-themed dining, specialty hotels, and entertainment and leisure experiences into a marine-themed "Dalian's urban living room," operating 365 days a year. The ocean world is the park's long-standing main venue. From the shark cave and discovery story corridor all the way to Havana avenue, the entire route is designed as an adventure journey "from land to the seabed and back to land." The underwater tunnel where sharks, rays and schools of fish swim overhead is a highlight for most visitors. The dolphin bay love story performed in the venue is a romantic mermaid fairy tale water show featuring dolphins, beluga whales and mermaids sharing the stage. The beluga legend in the polar world is a fully underwater performance by two trainers and beluga whales, while the sea lion fun show entertains the audience with the sea lions' hilarious interactions. All three shows have fixed time slots, so it's recommended to note down the schedule upon entry and plan the venue visit accordingly. The polar world gathers polar animals such as beluga whales, arctic wolves, arctic foxes, and spotted seals. Among them, the antarctic penguin island is a penguin breeding base, where gentoo penguins and king penguins gather in groups. From late summer to early fall each year, they enter the breeding season, offering a chance to witness penguin courtship, egg incubation, and even chicks hatching. Galactic Star Sea transforms the entire venue into the spaceship "Shengya," executing the "Galactic Star Sea Project." Beyond polar bears, sea lions and otters, visitors can also encounter land animals like capybaras and raccoons, with most allowing interactive feeding. The penguin tunnel is a popular photo spot, making it ideal for family trips. The coral world has been revamped with a tech-inspired theme, featuring hundreds of coral reef ecosystems paired with LED screens, touchscreen guides and holograms. The "Amazing Tower" showcases Dalian's coastal culture through murals by Chinese contemporary artist Wen Na, interspersed with interactive tech experiences. If time is limited, prioritize the performance-packed ocean world and the highly interactive Galactic Star Sea. Coral world is an immersive aquarium underwater garden that combines coolness and wisdom, perfectly pairing high technology with ancient marine life. It features over 100 coral reefs, fish and other biomes from around the world, six core sightseeing areas, high-tech LED screens, touch-guided tour systems, holographic imaging and other digital multimedia technologies, taking travelers on a "fun" journey to explore a different kind of scientific ocean. The Holy High Tower begins with a mural, serving as an artistic and entertaining "Holy High Tower," and it also has a very cool English name: HOLY HIGH. It empowers tourism through art, featuring trendy artist Wen Na, who creates cultural theme products for the attraction based on mountain and sea culture. By utilizing existing vacant architectural spaces and rationally adjusting the layout, it perfectly presents Dalian's distinctive "mountain and sea culture" through mural art. This allows travelers to appreciate contemporary Chinese painting art while enjoying fresh and exciting technological experiences. Guided by the working spirit of "innovation, pragmatism, service, and loyalty," with "serving society" as its corporate mission and "market-oriented, rule-of-law, and internationalized" as its business philosophy, Dalian Sunasia Ocean World adheres to the principle of "providing travelers with high-quality tourism products and services." It continuously focuses on venue facility upgrades, new business format planning and construction, and innovative tourism project design, gradually evolving from a traditional aquarium to a comprehensive marine cultural tourism industry chain. This builds a diversified, all-day Sunasia industry matrix, driving the transformation and development of attractions across Dalian and contributing to creating a new chapter of high-quality economic and social development for the city.China · Dalian

Changyu Wine Culture Museum

Changyu Company was founded in 1892 as China's first industrialized wine producer. After over 130 years of development, it has grown to become the world's fourth largest wine company by scale and ranks second globally in brand value. In 1992, the company built the Changyu Wine Culture Museum on the original factory site. In 2000, it invested over 80 million yuan in renovation and expansion. In 2022, marking the 130th anniversary of Changyu's founding, the company utilized modern exhibition hall 4.0 technology to upgrade the museum once again. The revitalized museum now showcases Changyu's dream of serving the nation through industry, its pioneering spirit, and the profound heritage and confidence gained from its extraordinary journey spanning three centuries as it engages with the world on equal terms. The museum is currently a national AAAA tourist attraction, one of China's first industrial tourism demonstration sites, a National Worker Pioneer, and a first-class national museum. It has been selected as one of the first "National Industrial Tourism Demonstration Bases," ranking first among the top ten. The museum consists of a wine culture plaza, exhibition halls, a century-old underground wine cellar, and the 1892 Art Center. The wine culture plaza features attractions like the bronze statue of Changyu founder Zhang Bishi, the Time-Aged Modern Sculpture, the Bacchus Fountain, the early treasury vault, and the Twin Qilin Screen Wall. The exhibition halls include four themed sections: "Industry Revitalizing the Nation," "Gilded Years," "Embracing Diversity," and "Striving for Excellence," which use interactive experiences to showcase Changyu's 130-year development journey, its global competitiveness rivaling foreign wines, trendsetting tastes, proactive social image, and how wine contributes to a healthy, elegant lifestyle. The century-old underground wine cellar, built in 1894 and designated as a national key cultural relic protection site, extends 7 meters below ground—over 1 meter below sea level—and lies within 100 meters of the coastline. Its eight intersecting vaulted tunnels create a maze-like structure. The 1892 Art Center, a "museum within the museum," is a red-roofed building blending Chinese and Western architectural styles. Formerly known as "Jin Gongshan's Old Residence" and later the "Yantai United Front Work Department," it served as the home of Changyu's founder Zhang Bishi. With over 100 years of history, it has now been transformed into an art center celebrating the aesthetics of wine-inspired living. "Telling the story of Chinese wine and promoting the aesthetics of a fashionable, healthy, romantic, and elegant wine lifestyle" – this is the mission of Changyu Wine Culture Museum. We will continue to innovate and inspire more people to fall in love with Yantai, Changyu, and Chinese wine.Yantai · 87.7 km from Laiyang

The Eight Immortals Crossing the Sea Attraction is located on the coast of the Yellow Sea in the north of Penglai City. There is an Eight Immortals Bridge connecting the Attraction and the seaside road. This is the place where the Eight Immortals crossed the sea in mythology and legend. The scenic Attraction is themed on the legend of "Eight Immortals Crossing the Sea" and has antique pavilions and gardens. You can pray for the immortals and feel the rich Taoist cultural atmosphere here, or you can enjoy the sea view everywhere. There are buildings such as the Eight Immortals Bridge, Xianyuan Tower, Wangying Tower, Bell and Drum Tower, Eight Immortals Temple, Huixian Pavilion, and Baixian Altar in the Attraction. There is a memorial archway in front and behind the Eight Immortals Bridge. The front and back of the first memorial archway are engraved with nine large characters "Eight Immortals Crossing the Sea" and "Fairyland on Earth" respectively, all of which are the handwriting of Su Dongpo, a great writer in the Northern Song Dynasty. Tour Guide After walking across the Eight Immortals Bridge, you will see the Xianyuan Tower, which is the gate tower for entering and exiting the Attraction. The plaque hanging above the building is engraved with two large characters "Xianyuan", which is said to be inscribed by Li Shimin, Emperor Taizong of Tang Dynasty. Behind the building is a moon-shaped shadow wall, called the "Eight Immortals Wall". In the middle is a relief sculpture made of 64 white jade square stones, depicting the story of the Eight Immortals crossing the sea, which is lifelike. There are two lakes in the Attraction, one large and one small, called the "Yaochi". From the left and right sides of the Eight Immortals Wall, you can walk along the island sightseeing road, and you can see various rockery and strange stones along the way. There is a seal island by the lake, where you can get close to seals. In the middle of the Attraction, there is an Eight Immortals Temple, which is an independent courtyard building where you can burn incense and pray for blessings. There are also two side halls on the left and right of the Eight Immortals Temple, namely the Prayer Hall and the God of Wealth Hall. Wangying Tower is a towering building built in the Xiaoyaochi. Its first and second floors are the Chinese Traditional Art Museum, where you can enjoy various rare jade, porcelain and other artworks. Among them is a lacquer-carved inlaid mural "Group of Immortals Celebrating Birthday" made of 1,888 pieces of jade, ivory and jade, which is the largest since the founding of the People's Republic of China and can be called a treasure handed down from generation to generation. In addition, there are precious collections such as couplets written by Zeng Guofan and Feng Qiyong, the master of Redology. Huixian Pavilion is located in Dayaochi. It is an antique pagoda building with one underground floor and five floors above ground. It is a landmark building in the Attraction. The pavilion enshrines 72 very representative Taoist gods. Climbing to the top of the pavilion and looking far into the distance, you can see the blue sea and blue sky. Baixiantan is the most scenic spot in the Attraction. You can pray for blessings in front of the statue of "Eight Immortals Crossing the Sea" or take a photo with the stone tablet of "Eight Immortals Crossing the Sea".Yantai · 94.2 km from Laiyang

The round trip from Gate 1 to Gate 5 costs 69 yuan, and you can get on and off at each stop. Gate 3 has many popular check-in spots, and Gate 5 is best visited during low tide in the afternoon when the reefs are exposed.

Dalian Zoo is a lot of fun! There are many small animals inside. You'll need a good day to see everything. I suggest bringing some food; there are restaurants inside the park that aren't too expensive, including fast food chains like burgers and Mixue Ice Cream. If your child is very young, you'll need a stroller, otherwise the zoo is quite large and it will be tiring for both the child and the parent. Overall, it was a great trip, and I had a very happy one.

Xinghai Bay has become a family paradise! Dad took the child to fly a kite, and mom and grandma took a walk in the square. My brother and I found a milk tea shop and watched the figures of our family. When the lights came on in the evening, the whole family sat on the steps and watched the night view of the bridge. The child leaned on the old man's arms, feeling so warm that he didn't want to leave.

It's a zoo that requires hiking, which can be tiring for older people, although there is a magic carpet (I saw three sections, each with a separate fee). The sightseeing bus is located at Shen Diao Mountain; if you take it, you'll go directly to the panda enclosure, but you won't see two-thirds of the pandas. The animals here are quite active; the eagles drool while eating, there are performing gorillas, brown bears that reach out for food and spin around, and rabbits and guinea pigs lining up to leave... You'd need to spend a whole day here, but it's definitely worth a visit.

The atmosphere at the Changyu second-floor bar was a delightful surprise! ✨ The wine post office in the corner immediately caught my eye; the corkboard was covered with messages and postcards from tourists everywhere, allowing you to write down your feelings and send them to yourself or a friend – very meaningful souvenirs. The bar also offered brandy and specialty cocktails, and there was an art and calligraphy exhibition area nearby. After exploring the wine cellar, it was a relaxing and comfortable spot to unwind and have a drink. There was no hard selling, making it a truly therapeutic stop on the itinerary.

The Zhanqiao Pier in Qingdao is a must-see! The century-old stone path stretches into the azure sea, and the glazed tiles of the Huilan Pavilion gleam brightly in the sunlight. In winter, flocks of seagulls circle and forage, and the salty sea breeze is incredibly soothing. Climbing to the top offers panoramic views of red-tiled roofs, green trees, and the azure sea and sky; every snapshot is a masterpiece, no filter needed. All the romance of Qingdao is here!

Qingdao Satisfies All Your Sea-Viewing Desires As the sea closest to the Central Plains culture, the Yellow Sea would have been the first choice for emperors like Qin Shi Huang, Emperor Wu of Han, and Emperor Taizu of Song to view the sea, with places like Langya, Jimo, and Qingdao being prime examples. After all, besides the vast ocean and the majestic Laoshan Mountain, it's also an important salt-producing area. When you truly hear the roar of the waves crashing against the rocks, when you see the boundless coastline, you'll believe you've truly seen the sea. If you can also swim in the sea, leisurely go beachcombing, listen to the sea, feel the sea breeze, visit islands, eat seafood, walk through underwater tunnels, take ocean-going cruises, and visit aquariums, then all your desires for the sea have been fulfilled, and you'll have no regrets in this life. Moreover, there are colonial-era seaside villas, Olympic sailing ships, and the National Naval Museum of China. Qingdao, a city with a very well-developed and mature tourism industry; Qingdao, a city that satisfies all your sea-viewing desires; Qingdao, the place where your journey to the sea begins. Travel Guide Transportation: Train Accessible by public transportation (free for veterans with preferential treatment cards). Duration: 1-7 days. Accommodation and Dining: Convenient. The Home Inn Boutique Hotel near Qingdao Railway Station is the closest to Zhanqiao Pier. (Qingdao is a long-established tourist city with excellent attractions and public transportation services. The attraction is somewhat artificial and rather ordinary, not as good as Penglai Pavilion, but it's okay for a stroll. However, I really liked the seals inside. Although taking photos and feeding them cost extra, it was a rare and satisfying experience. The seagulls on the beach outside were fantastic, very close overhead, and you could even take pictures of the scenic area.
