Lavana Ella Falls is 5 kilometers from Ella, between the small town of Ella and Villa Walla, and you can see it on the way. It is part of the Ella Wildlife Sanctuary. Although the waterfall is not big, it is also a very famous small attraction in Eller. 1. The waterfall and surrounding waterfalls are 25 meters high and flow out from an oval concave rock on the top of the mountain. Many locals will play on the edge of the waterfall, and there will be some stalls selling snacks and souvenirs around, which is a dating destination for local Sri Lankans. 2. Allusions about waterfalls The allusions about Ravanael Falls are from the Indian epic "Ramayana". The small waterfalls above the big waterfalls are close to the Ravanael caves. It is said that this is where the devil once The place where Princess Sita was imprisoned, the protagonist of "Morayana".Badulla · 9.4 km from Nuwara Eliya

The waterfall is about 30 meters high and flows straight down. Although it is not big, the surrounding scenery is beautiful. 1. The origin of the name It is said that there was once a prince who got lost in the jungle and met a beautiful girl to rescue him. The prince and the girl were inseparable in love, but the girl came from a humble background and was not tolerated by the royal family. Later, the couple embraced and jumped from the waterfall high cliff to die for love. 2. The 5-kilometer round trip from Pedro Tea Estate to the canyon is very pleasing to the eyes and overlooks Nuwara Eliya City and the tea gardens of the mountains. There is a hiking trail to get under the waterfall, which can be tried by adventurous friends.Nuwara Eliya District · 2.7 km from Nuwara Eliya

Devon Falls, located 17km west of Nuwara Eliya, is named after Devon, a British coffee grower (whose coffee farm is nearby). The waterfall is 97 meters high and 1140 meters above sea level, making it the 19th highest waterfall in Sri Lanka. The white water swoops down from the high cliff, and it will encounter a small flat land on the way, but it still cannot stop the powerful momentum of the waterfall. The entire waterfall is surrounded by green trees, making the white waterfall more elegant and colorful.Nuwara Eliya District · 15.4 km from Nuwara Eliya

World's End is one of the more famous tourist attractions in Horton Plains National Park. The end of the world is an 880-meter-deep cliff, known as "World's End", and the scenery is spectacular. From a distance, the morning light combined with the fog is breathtaking, and in the early mornings in fine weather, you can look out to the southern seashore. There are charming scenery on the way to the end of the world, which makes people shocked and forget the fatigue of the journey. Introduction to Houghton Hiking Route The Houghton Hiking is a circular route with no turning back. The total length is about 9.5 kilometers. The clearer season is from January to March each year, while the rainy season from April to September is not suitable for hiking. In addition to being rainy and cold, Horton Plains are often surrounded by heavy fog. The clockwise counter-clockwise route is first to the end of the small world, then to the end of the world, and then to Baker Falls. Counterclockwise is the opposite. After entering the scenic spot, go straight and encounter a fork in the road. There is a large green stone at the intersection to guide the way, turn right is counterclockwise, and turn left is clockwise. The recommended walking method is not recommended for anti-clockwise walking, the better walking method should be clockwise. The reason is that the clockwise road is much closer to the end of the world than counterclockwise, and will go through the end of the small world first, and then to the end of the big world. The road on the left has woods on both sides, and the road on the right has plain scenery on both sides. In the morning, when the sky is not too bright, walk from the left hand and reach the end of the world first, and enjoy the view. Afterwards, take the road on the right hand side in a hurry, you can take pictures slowly and enjoy the scenery. If you go counterclockwise, it will take a lot of time to take pictures along the way. If you go to the end of the world, you will be in a hurry, which will not only delay enjoying the scenery along the road, but also delay seeing the scenery at the end of the world.Nuwara Eliya District · 20.3 km from Nuwara Eliya

Surroundings Little Adam Peak has beautiful scenery, surrounded by lush alpine tea gardens and waterfalls, which are very beautiful. It is also a good place for photography enthusiasts. 2. The hike starts from Ella-Passara Rd. It takes about 40 minutes to reach the foot of Little Adam Peak. There are green tea gardens along the way, and the air is fresh like a natural oxygen bar. Climbing to the top of the mountain in the mist, the view is wide, the Baiyun Falls and the Ella Grand Canyon in the distance are unobstructed. And it is said that the Great Basses Lighthouse near Yarra on the southeast coast can be seen at night.Ella · 34.1 km from Nuwara Eliya

Stilt Fisherman sri lankalocated in the Koggala area on the southwest coast of Sri Lanka, is a unique traditional fishing view. Unlike traditional ports with large berths, modern equipment, and fleets of fishing boats, the fishing area here is mainly distributed near the shallow coastal reefs, surrounded by the open Indian Ocean, stretches of sandy beaches, and a coastline that rises and falls with the waves. Looking along the coast, wooden poles stand in the shallow water, creating a unique stilt fishing scene. The main facilities here are simple and practical, centered on wooden poles fixed in the shallow sea and crossbars erected on them. Fishermen usually wade barefoot to the poles, climb onto the crossbars, and sit on the makeshift wooden frames to fish with rods.Sri Lanka · Koggala

This is a large tea factory. The black tea it produces is very well-known, so it also attracts many tourists to visit. The tea factory has a large tea garden, and here you can experience the taste of Sri Lankan black tea and the production process.

💧 Lover’s Leap Waterfall – A Romantic Cascade in Nuwara Eliya 🌿🌸Tucked away in the scenic hills of Nuwara Eliya, Lover’s Leap Waterfall is a stunning 30-meter cascade surrounded by lush greenery and tea plantations. According to local legend, it was named after a tragic love story of a prince and his beloved who leapt from the cliff. The trek to the falls offers breathtaking views of the town and its rolling hills, making it a favorite spot for hikers and nature lovers. The cool mist, the sound of rushing water, and the romantic history make Lover’s Leap a must-visit gem in Sri Lanka’s hill country.

In just a few seconds, the fog filled the valley. Not to mention the scenery in the valley, even the mountain on the opposite side disappeared in the fog. Perhaps it is because of this momentary scenery that we yearn for the end of the world.

The trailhead starts next to Ravana Pool Club located about 4 km to the south-east of Ella town centre. It can be easily reached by hiring a tuk-tuk. Our family took about 30 minutes to reach the peak. It is better to set out early in the morning or in the evening to avoid the scorching sun. We spent some time at the peak taking pictures while admiring the beauty of Ella.

Watching the stilt fishermen of Sri Lanka is like witnessing a living painting—grace, balance, and tradition suspended above the sea. Perched on slender poles as the sun dips low, these silent silhouettes tell a timeless story of resilience and harmony with nature. It’s not just fishing—it’s an art form passed down through generations, standing tall against tides and time. A truly humbling and poetic glimpse into coastal life that stays with you long after the waves fade.
