Marrakesh

Marrakesh is located in southern Morocco and is known as the "Red City" due to the ochre-red earth used in most of its architecture. The heart of the city is the Medina, a World Heritage site densely packed with winding alleys and open-air markets. Souk Semmarine is one of the larger markets in the old city, offering everything from handmade carpets and leather goods to spices and copper lamps. Wandering through it is a cultural experience in itself. The center of the old city is Jemaa el-Fnaa. During the day, the square is filled with fruit juice stalls and handicraft booths, while at night it transforms into an open-air food street where snake charmers, storytellers, and traditional musicians take turns performing. Near the square stands the 12th-century Koutoubia. Its towering minaret is the city's landmark, and the gardens surrounding the mosque are also worth a visit. Bahia Palace showcases the craftsmanship of traditional Moroccan architecture, with its exquisite courtyards, carved wooden doors, and inlaid tiles. Outside the old city, the Majorelle Garden is famous for its unique "Majorelle Blue" architecture and exotic plants. It was created by French painter Jacques Majorelle and later restored and preserved by fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent. At sunset, find a rooftop café in the old city, order a pot of mint tea, and watch the sunset cast an even richer glow on the ochre-red walls—this is one of the quintessential Marrakesh experiences.Marrakech · 73.9 km from Rehamna

Kasbah of the Udayas is a fortress complex in the capital of Morocco, situated on a promontory at the edge of the old city of Rabat, where the Bou Regreg River meets the Atlantic Ocean. In the mid-12th century, the Almohad dynasty built this fortress on the site of an existing military outpost, which was later expanded and used by the Alaouite dynasty. In the early 17th century, Moorish refugees expelled from Spain flocked here, using the fortress as a base to form a maritime armed force. As part of the historic district of Rabat, the fortress was inscribed on the World Heritage List in 2012. The entrance to the fortress is the Bab Oudaia gate, built in the late 12th century, with its facade covered in geometric reliefs and Quranic inscriptions. Passing through the gate into the interior of the fortress, the walls on both sides of the streets are painted in blue and white. The Old Mosque is located next to the main street and was built in approx. 1150. In the southern part of the fortress lies an Andalusian Garden, designed in the style of Moorish gardens from the Al-Andalus period, shaded by orange and lemon trees. Adjacent to the garden is the National Jewelry Museum, housed in a palace built by Sultan Ismail of the Alaouite dynasty in the 17th century, which displays traditional jewelry, costumes, and handicrafts from across Morocco. The blue and white streets and alleys of the Kasbah of the Udayas also served as a filming location for the movie "Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation".Morocco · Rabat

Boulevard de la Corniche is a coastal scenic road in Casablanca bordering the Atlantic Ocean. Located in the western coastal area of the city, it stretches for several km. The boulevard consists of a wide roadway and a wooden boardwalk on the seaside, where you can overlook the blue Atlantic Ocean by leaning on the railing. The area below the boardwalk railing that extends toward the beach is lined with leisure facilities such as cafes, bars, and swimming pools. A locally famous "Miami" cafe is located at the turn at the southern end of the boulevard, and the boulevard is named after it. The cafe is built on a high embankment with water on both sides. Sitting in the outdoor seating area, you have a view of the open Atlantic Ocean. Evening is the main time to visit. As the sun sets, the coastal boardwalk is filled with residents and tourists taking a walk, and the cafe terraces gradually become lively. Along the boulevard, there are also cultural exhibits and photo spots related to the film "Casablanca".Morocco · Casablanca

Jemaa el-Fnaa is located in theold city of Marrakech, the heart of this thousand-year-old city, serving as both a public square for local gatherings and a traditional open-air market. The square's charm lies in its completely different appearance by day and night. During the day, stalls selling freshly squeezed orange juice, spices, and traditional herbs line up, while snake charmers and monkey trainers occupy corners of the square, and traditional dentists set up shop on the street. After dark, the entire square is transformed, with stalls serving Moroccan snacks like grilled meats and tagines packed closely together, Berber musicians and Gnaoua dancers begin their evening performances, acrobats and storytellers improvise for the crowds, and henna artists set up stalls to attract customers.Marrakech · 73.5 km from Rehamna

Aït Benhaddou is an ancient earthen settlement in the heart of the Atlas Mountains in southern Morocco, situated on the ancient trade route connecting the Sahara Desert and Marrakech. It was once an important transfer station for the transport of gold, salt, and spices in trans-Saharan trade. It is said that the village was founded in the 8th century. Although most of the existing buildings were constructed after the 17th century, they use earthen construction techniques that have been passed down for hundreds of years, making it a representative relic of earthen architecture in southern Morocco. The entire settlement is built along the hillside, with layers of red earthen walls, corner towers, and kasbahs connected to each other, forming a spatial pattern enclosed by narrow alleys and high walls. The towering defensive walls and corner towers were used to fend off raids in the past, while the layout of residential houses, mosques, and public spaces in close proximity reflects the lifestyle of the Berber community. At the higher part of the village is the former hilltop granary; climbing up here offers a panoramic view of the entire settlement and the valley. While walking through the alleys, you can also see small handicraft shops opened by local residents, and a few families still live in the old village today. Due to its unique ancient city view, this settlement has become a filming location for numerous film and television works. Films such as "Lawrence of Arabia," "The Jewel of the Nile," "The Mummy," and "Gladiator" were all shot here, and it also served as a filming location for the city of Yunkai in "Game of Thrones."Morocco · Ait Ben Haddou

Todgha Gorge

Todgha Gorge is located near Tinerhir in the eastern part of the Atlas Mountains in Morocco, formed by the Todgha and Dades rivers cutting through limestone over a long period. Starting from Tinerhir, a road winds into the gorge, passing mud-brick villages and ancient kasbahs along the way. As you go deeper, the rock walls on both sides gradually rise and narrow, reaching a width of only approx. 10m at the narrowest point, while the cliffs tower hundreds of meters high. Standing at the bottom of the valley and looking up, the steep, smooth rock walls look like a split in the earth that blocks out most of the sky. The rock walls in the core section of the gorge are nearly vertical and smooth, with limestone walls displaying a blend of brownish-red and golden hues that show distinct layers under the sunlight. During the dry season, the riverbed is mostly dry and can be traversed on foot, while water levels rise significantly during the rainy season. You can traverse this section by car or on foot. Walking offers a more direct experience of the gorge's imposing and magnificent scale without the obstruction of a car roof. Hundreds of rock climbing routes have been established on the cliff walls, ranging from beginner to advanced levels, making it a popular destination for climbers in Morocco. You can hike a loop along the trail, which offers panoramic views of the Atlas Mountains highlands and passes through Berber villages.Morocco · Tinerhir

Koutoubiais located in the southwest of the old town of Marrakech, Morocco, and is one of the representative historical landmarks of this Red City. The overall structure is dominated by red sandstone tones, harmonizing with the red architectural style of Marrakech's old town. The striking minaret, with a height of about 77m, is an important part of the city's skyline. The four sides of the tower are decorated with distinctive geometric arched patterns, with regular lines and harmonious proportions, reflecting the simple and solemn artistic style of Almohad dynasty architecture. The top of the tower consists of a spire and metal spheres, with a distinct outline that is particularly eye-catching under the sunlight. Its unique tower design also had an important influence on the Giralda bell tower in Seville and the Hassan Tower in Rabat, making it of high historical and architectural research value.Marrakech · 73.7 km from Rehamna

Old City (Casablanca)

Old City (Casablanca) is the original core of the city, rebuilt by Sultan Sidi Mohammed ben Abdallah in the second half of the 18th century on the ruins of the old city. Unlike the old cities of Marrakech or Fes, this is not a tourist district, but a living, working market—the alleys are packed with hardware stores, meat stalls, shoe shops, and teahouses, handcarts rattle on the cobblestone streets, the call to prayer from the minaret cuts through the bustle of the market, and the salty sea breeze blows in from the direction of the port. The iconic entrance to the Old City is the Bab Marrakech gate, an arched sandstone gate that survived the great earthquake of 1755. Passing through the gate leads into the winding market alleys. Following the lanes toward the port, you will reach the Skala Fortress—this 18th-century coastal defense fortification still retains its old-style cannons facing the Atlantic Ocean, and climbing the walls offers a panoramic view of the stone walls, the sea, and the fishing port. At the junction of the old city and the French-style new city, the clock tower in United Nations Square marks the boundary between the two districts and is also a suitable starting point for a walking tour of the Old City.Morocco · Casablanca

Ifrane is situated on a plateau in theMiddle Atlasat an altitude of approx. 1,665m. Known as the "Little Switzerland of Morocco" for its Alpine-style stone chalets, red-tiled roofs, and wide, tree-lined avenues, it stands apart from other Moroccan towns. Unlike other towns in Morocco, there is no medina here; instead, you will find manicured parks and French-style patisseries. Built during the French protectorate era as a summer retreat for colonial officials, the town still attracts many Moroccan families seeking to escape the summer heat, while in winter, snow blankets the entire town. Al Akhawayn University is located within the town, and its campus is worth a stroll. The town's landmark is a stone lion statue, carved from a single boulder, standing next to the Parc La Prairie. On the edge of town, Aguelmame Lake is perfect for a morning walk, with particularly beautiful views in the fall when the oak trees change color. Nearby, Ifrane National Park protects vast forests of Atlas cedars, home to the tailless Barbary macaque, a primate species unique to Northern Africa that is often seen jumping through the branches in search of food. When it snows in winter, the ski slopes open, offering a view of snow-covered cedars that is rare to find anywhere else in Northern Africa.Morocco · Ifrane

Mohammed V Square

Mohammed V Square is located in the city center of Casablanca and is an important administrative hub of the city. Public buildings such as the courthouse, the central post office, the central bank building, and the Wilaya administrative building are located around the square. Most of them were built in the 1920s and 1930s, blending traditional Moorish decoration with Art Deco style. Arcades, white exterior walls, and colorful mosaic tiles on the facades form the square's unique architectural view. A large fountain is located in the center of the square, and flocks of pigeons often gather around it, which is why it is also known as "Pigeon Square." The Wilaya building on the south side was designed by architect Marius Boyer. Its inner courtyard features greenery and a fountain, the colonnades are decorated with tiles, and the towering clock tower is also quite distinctive. The square is close to the old town. It is suitable for admiring the architecture and fountain during the day, and after the lights come on at night, it presents a different view.Morocco · Casablanca

Since the movie "Mission Impossible 5" made it famous, the Udaya Castle has become a popular tourist destination. In the movie, Tom Cruise's car racing scene in the castle, where he drove directly from the steps of the castle into the sea, was filmed here.

【Ait Ben Haddou】The ancient city is located in Ouarzazate, Morocco, in an oasis on the edge of the Sahara Desert. The entire castle is composed of traditional Moroccan mud houses, mostly built with a mixture of licorice and terracotta. The appearance is slightly rough, but at a glance outside the ancient city, you can be shocked by its spectacular and sacred pattern. As early as 1987, it was listed as a World Cultural Heritage. Walking into the ancient city, you will find that these golden red adobe castles and turrets seem to have drilled out from the ground, which are stunning and dramatic. People can't help but admire the local construction technology, especially under the sunlight, these castles are even more charming. This place not only attracts tourists from all over the world, but also Hollywood directors favor this charming ancient city. Many movies that are popular with movie fans around the world have been filmed here, including "The Lost Tomb", "Star Wars Prequel", "Mission Impossible V", etc., so the ancient city of Haddou has also won the title of Hollywood in North Africa and has become a holy place for many movie lovers. Nordic style is displayed in Ifrane. I saw the cedar tree. The stone lion in Figure 8 is the symbol of the city. There is a new tourist project: the sightseeing train! This place is known as Little Switzerland! It’s a pity that there are no people and cars during the epidemic.

This square can only be said to be a small square. If I really want to sit down, I still like to go to Cafe France in Place des Nations Unie to sit down and drink coffee. There are also performers singing around. You must come to Place V because you can check in in front of Casablanca. In addition, you can also play with pigeons.
