Things to do in Shixing

The namesake of Danxia landforms, a World Natural Heritage site, boasts stunning red rock peaks and forests perfect for photos. Sunrise and sunset are the highlights, with the sunset at Ximeizhai and sunrise at Elder Peak offering breathtaking atmosphere. However, the area has many steps and significant elevation changes, making it a challenging hiking destination.

I heard about Mantangwei a long time ago, but never had the chance to come. My friend told me that it has become a 4A scenic spot this year, so I took the time to bring my family to see it. I was shocked when I arrived. It was much more spectacular than I imagined. Its large scale and architectural style amazed me. The corridors and courtyards are paved with river stones to form flowers and various patterns. According to the staff, the materials used in the whole Dawei are also very particular, and they are all blue bricks that have been manually polished. You can also taste the intangible cultural heritage - Prime Minister's noodles in the town, which is very delicious. My family felt that this trip was worthwhile and praised it highly.

The Nanling Red Desert Scenic Area in Shaoguan is mainly a red basin with purple-red color. It is mostly exposed hilly areas and resembles a desert. It is locally known as "Huangsha Ke" and its academic name is "Nanxiong Red Soil Layer". It has several major features such as leisure sightseeing, hiking and camping, film and television photography, and scientific expeditions - cinnabar on the earth, strange scenery, northern Guangdong style, and natural wonders!

For families with children, it's definitely worth a visit! Visiting the entire park in one day would be very rushed and tiring, leaving your knees sore. For a better experience, I recommend two days and one night. The park has a wide variety of animals, and the cable car and miniature train are quite unique; children had a great time. The staff are very friendly, patiently answering questions and engaging in friendly interactions. If I had to complain, firstly, the food prices inside the park are relatively high (although the Chinese food was okay); secondly, the smell was too pungent when the miniature train passed the bird area (I wonder how this can be improved); and thirdly, the prices in the interactive areas are also quite expensive (for example, feeding the giraffes costs 36 yuan for a single branch!!!). Overall, I highly recommend it for families with children!

Truly an international extravaganza. Acrobats, performers, animals were fantastic.diverse performers and interesting segments made the whole experience enjoyable. Splurge for the closer seats.

Booked the tickets online through Trip.com which made entry reasonably easy.... although Canton Tower has a strange entry process that the needs reviewing. Once you finally get up there the views and the Pod trip are excellent. Highly recommended.

There aren't many people early in the morning, and it's foggy. It gets busier once the fog clears. It's a great choice for families to visit, relax, or camp. You can drive or take public transport; there are many options. It's a seasonal attraction, so choose your time carefully.

The only downside is that the two mountains are too far apart. After climbing Elder Peak, I simply didn't have the energy to climb the other one. If they were connected, I would have had the motivation, but having to descend one mountain and then walk the other to climb the other one made it impossible to move.

I’ve a great memorable and interactive time in the Chimelong International Circus. I purchased at here since I was not able to purchase in WeChat as I don’t have China phone number. The view is so great and all of the performers are just infront of me. Totally recommend this experience! It’s just a pity that it’s only 1hr! :)
