Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park

Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park is located in western Lapland, Finland, spanning the four municipalities of Enontekio, Kittila, Kolari, and Muonio. It is the third-largest national park in Finland, covering an area of 1,020 square kilometers. Its landscape centers on a chain of fells stretching approx. 100 km. These fells are rounded landforms created by long-term glacial erosion of ancient fold mountains, which, together with northern coniferous forests and marshy wetlands, form a diverse natural landscape. As one of Finland's historic national parks, the park's summer trails and winter ski trails extend deep into forests, wetlands, and fells, with classic routes connecting various landscapes. The park also features themed exhibitions showcasing local ecological culture. Year-round experiences include mountain biking, canoeing, snowshoeing, and traditional Finnish saunas.
