• Sun Moon Lake is surrounded by mountains and lush forests. The lake is crystal clear, with visibility reaching over 10 meters. • There are many ways to visit Sun Moon Lake. Taking a yacht around the lake, the Sun Moon Lake cable car, the Sun Moon Lake bicycle path around the lake, and the lake trail are all good options. • Every spring, the cherry blossoms along the road are in full bloom, presenting a colorful scene △ Sun Moon Lake is a vast lake, and the peaks reflected in the lake look like a beautiful scene in a painting. There is a small island in the pond, which looks like a bead floating on the water from a distance, so it is called "Pearl Island" and is now also called Lalu Island. With this island as the boundary, the northern half of the lake is round like the sun, and the southern half of the lake is curved like a crescent moon. This is where the name Sun Moon Lake comes from. △ The Sun Moon Lake Lake Route has been hailed by CNN as one of the most beautiful bicycle lanes in the world. Whether you are traveling with friends, a couple on a date, or a family trip, you must ride a bicycle when visiting Sun Moon Lake and enjoy the freedom and comfort of the lake. △ Enjoy the entire lake tour to appreciate the scenery of Sun Moon Lake and the mountains, with the captain's warm service and on-board guided tour. Along the way, you can overlook Lalu Island, Sun Moon Resort, Lalu Island, Ci'en Pagoda, Xuanzang Temple, Xuanguang Temple, water boat house, four-handed hanging net, cable car station, Sun Moon Lake outlet, and Wenwu Temple. △ Sun Moon Lake Cable Car - overlooking the 360-degree view of the lake and mountains of Sun Moon Lake. If there is enough water, you may also have the opportunity to see the foggy and fairyland-like dreamy scenery.Nantou · 13.3 km from downtown

The Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village is a large leisure and recreation area composed of three main parts: the European palace garden, the amusement park, and the Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village. The amusement facilities not only include one of the tallest free-fall rides in Southeast Asia but also feature a cable car connecting the Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village and Sun Moon Lake, offering a breathtaking aerial view of central Taiwan's mountainous and watery landscapes. In recent years, it has become even more remarkable. In addition, the romantic and beautiful European garden boasts an exquisite appearance comparable to those abroad. The rich indigenous culture is also a key feature of the Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village, showcasing Taiwan's original culture and characteristics through traditional attire, architecture, imagery, cuisine, music, and more of the indigenous tribes! [European garden] "Leisurely" European court dance moves. Sun Moon Lake European Garden, spanning approximately six hectares, showcases the grandeur of European court gardens with its vast royal ambiance. It is the largest European-style garden in Taiwan and a popular filming location for many Taiwanese idol dramas. Baroque music accompanies the dancing waters of the Roman fountain in this romantic European garden. Here, you can take a leisurely ride on a small train, enjoying the breeze as you tour the garden's majestic scenery. Alternatively, stroll past the garden's fountains and bell tower to the magnificent Li Palace Restaurant for a sumptuous lunch. [Happy World] A joyful paradise filled with fun for the whole family. Experience civilizations from around the world, embark on thrilling adventures or relaxing, heartwarming journeys, and discover a new paradise nestled in the mountains. [Sun Moon Lake ropeway] Taiwan's first light-load aerial ropeway system, 40 meters above the ground, features bright and spacious cabins with gentle breezes. It not only offers a bird's-eye view of the entire Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village but also connects to the Sun Moon Lake ropeway. Spanning 1.877 kilometers, it lets you admire the lake and mountain scenery of Sun Moon Lake and the beauty of Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village's forests in just 7 minutes. [Experience indigenous culture] The indigenous tribal area features various authentic cultural displays and parent-child DIY activities, along with a performance theater showcasing indigenous dance skills, allowing visitors to experience the lifestyles of different indigenous groups in one visit. The Formosan Aboriginal Culture Village is one of Taiwan's most popular cherry blossom viewing spots. During the blooming season, over 5,000 cherry trees bloom in succession, creating a breathtaking view that attracts large crowds of flower admirers to join in the celebration.Nantou · 11.5 km from downtown

Ita Thao is a Thao settlement by the Sun Moon Lake, formerly known as Dehuashe. In the impression of many people, Ita Thao is just a pier by the Sun Moon Lake. In fact, across the mountainside of the Huantan Highway, there is the Ita Thao Combination House Tribal Area, which is also the entrance to the Shuishe Mountain Trail. Ita Thao Street is a very flavorful cultural block in the Sun Moon Lake area. The streets are lined with handicrafts and specialty shops, while the modular house tribes at the entrance of Shuishe Dashan have simple stories of Thao people painted on the outer walls of the buildings. , don't have style. Deer Market: It is not difficult to experience the native culture of the Thao ethnic group when you come to the Ita Thao tribe. There is the Deer Market, named after the legend of White Deer in Thao legends, located in the south area of Ita Thao Pier. Harvest Festival: The annual rituals of the Thao people include sowing, weeding, hunting, eel worship, and harvest festivals. Every year in the eighth month of the lunar calendar, it is the harvest festival of the Thao people. If there is a main sacrifice, the "big New Year" will be held for nearly a month. During the "Great Chinese New Year" harvest festival, the whole clan is dispatched, and there are ceremonies such as pounding the stone, worshiping the mother-in-law basket, wiping the arms and praying, chiseling the teeth, building the ancestor's spiritual house, and praying for the shield to welcome the sun and the moon. Legend has it that the ancestors of the Thao people came from Alishan. They found a big white deer in the mountain, chased the white deer over the mountains and came to Sun Moon Lake, and found the lake and lake with beautiful fish. Since then, they have settled on the bank of Sun Moon Lake, and Lalu Island in the lake has become their ancestral place. , Shuishe Dashan has also become a holy mountain.Nantou · 13.6 km from downtown

So convenient! You just havs to show your QR code/ booking voucher to claim your ticket. Had a great time at Sun Moon Lake Ropeway. For the lake cruise, I claimed mine from the Visitor's Centre at Ita Thao— the ladies there are very welcoming and they understand right away when you show them the booking QR code.

The length is about 30 kilometers; the riding time is about 3.5 hours; The Xiangshan section with the most beautiful scenery is about 3.4 kilometers long; the riding time is about 30 minutes. You can rent electric bicycles and ride up the mountain section for 1.5 hours to enjoy the beautiful scenery and take beautiful photos.

Man Mo Temple is located next to Sun Moon Lake and built against the mountains. From a high place, you can overlook the clear and peaceful mountains and forests of Sun Moon Lake, the noise of the temple, and make everyone's wishes amidst the smoke. Because Man Mo Temple is located in Sun Moon Lake, it is more convenient to drive by yourself in terms of transportation. There are parking spaces around but it takes time to find them. If money and time permit, living near Sun Moon Lake and cycling around the lake is a good choice. Man Mo Temple is mainly dedicated to Confucius and Guan Gong. In Taiwan, entry to temples is free, so I was shocked when I first encountered a temple in Shanghai that required admission. I like visiting temples very much. The Tudigong Temple next door to my house has taken care of all kinds of girlish worries that I have had since childhood. If I dare not tell my parents or teachers, I can tell the gods and he will keep it secret and bless me with peace. Because there is Confucius in the Man Mo Temple, before the exam, the place will be crowded with all kinds of candidates, parents and all kinds of admission tickets, which is also a unique scenery in Taiwan. I like to walk down from the mountain at the back to the Man Mo Temple, because you can see a different Man Mo Temple and a different Sun Moon Lake from high up. Green hills, green water and fragrant temple, this is the place I miss.

Xiangshan Bicycle Trail is from Shuishe Zhongxing Parking Lot - Mingtan Legendary Museum - Shuishe Dam - Yongjie Tongxin Bridge - Xiangshan Visitor Center. There is a bicycle trail along the waterside of Sun Moon Lake. You can stop and take pictures. There are not many tourists along the way. It is very comfortable. Cycling around the lake to enjoy the beautiful scenery is also a good choice. Get close to Sun Moon Lake and the natural scenery.

According to legend, Lalu Island is the residence of the highest ancestor of the Thao people and one of the early settlements of the Thao people. Today, this land is well protected and used to commemorate the ancestors of the Thao people. Due to the strong winds and waves in Sun Moon Lake, it is best not to stand on the bow when taking a cruise in the park!

There are yachts between Yidashao Pier, Xuanguang Pier and Shuishe Pier. Yidashao Pier now has four floating plank roads, namely Pier 1, Pier 2, Pier 3 and Pier 4, which are used to dock yachts coming from different directions. The pier is an important station for water transportation and a famous scenic spot. It is an ideal place for sightseeing with clear water and green mountains, fresh air and many tourists.
