Sommarøy is a charming island located in the Troms county of northern Norway. The island is famous for its unique concept of time and is known as the "time-free zone." In 2019, the island's residents collectively launched an initiative to abolish the traditional time system, no longer relying on clocks but instead arranging their lives based on the position of the sun and personal needs, an action that attracted widespread attention from global media. Surrounded by the sea, the island boasts magnificent natural scenery where mountains meet the ocean, and it has preserved its traditional fishing village charm, making it a unique destination for experiencing authentic island life within the Norwegian Arctic Circle.Sommaroy · 1.5 km from downtown

Tickets were issued quickly. I booked them while queuing at the cable car station and managed to get them just in time before entering the gate. They were much cheaper than buying them on-site – great! The blue hour view from the mountain, the city night view, and the Northern Lights were absolutely stunning!

I've just visited this incredible place during the polar night, and even been with a light light, it was an amazing visit. The small beaches invite you to eat something sitting on the sand while watching the Norwegian Sea.At the village you can find a small supermarket and an electric car charging station.

I went there in autumn. There is no polar day or polar night. The mountains and rivers are beautiful and the air is fresh. It is a good place to relax and unwind. I stayed there for a week. I would recommend everyone who is tired from work to stay in Norway for a week. I didn't live in the city center, but Tromso is so small. The city center, suburbs and airport are all about 15 minutes away by bus. Live slowly and play slowly. In the past, you could see the northern lights as long as it was sunny. Don't get too tired. It is really a good place to absorb energy. If you live by the sea, you will be in a good mood as soon as you open the window every day. Anyway, it is worth a visit.

Where is the northernmost Catholic church in the world? It's Tromso in Norway. If you don't drive to the church, you can take the bus, but we choose to walk slowly, from the city center harbor, walk along the seaside, then walk up the bridge and go straight to see the church. The church is actually not big, because it was not open when I went, the front is glass, you can look inside, nothing special, then walked around the church, the back is stained glass windows, with white snow, very beautiful.

Winter in Tromsø is really beautiful. The snowy daytime brings a bit of bleakness, with fallen trees neatly lined up on both sides of the road. There are not many pedestrians on the road, and seabirds occasionally fly by with squawks, making people feel so peaceful and comfortable. This is also another way to relax on vacation.

Pretty, romantic bridge that connects the two parts of the town. An iconic structure of Tromsø. When night falls, it’s beautiful with surrounding buildings all lit.
