Alpe di Siusi

5.0/5
2 reviews
Alpe di Siusiis a vast alpine meadow stretching across a plateau. Unlike the sharp, jagged peaks common in the Dolomites, the terrain here is gentle and open, with traditional wooden huts and herds of cattle scattered among the rolling green waves of grass. To the west are uniquely shaped peaks, while to the east stand towering, grayish-white rock walls. The magnificent panorama, surrounded by mountains, creates a unique landscape. Trails crisscross the plateau, featuring both gentle loop routes and paths that lead deep into the heart of the pastures, with wooden huts along the way serving local specialty cheeses and wine. On sunny days, cloud shadows sweep across the meadows, making for a pleasant scene. Traditional alpine grazing customs have long been preserved here. In early summer, wildflowers bloom, and in the fall, the traditional scene of herders driving cattle down the mountain showcases a rich pastoral charm. In the early morning, mist drifts over the grassy slopes, while in the evening, the sunset dyes the rock walls in warm colors. This place is suitable for all seasons: spring and summer are perfect for hiking and cycling, while in winter, it transforms into a vast ski area, showcasing a rich and diverse mountain landscape.Castelrotto · 12.1 km from VillnoB

Dolomites

Dolomites are located in the southern foothills of the Alps and are renowned for their unique dolomite landscape. Unlike other mountain ranges in the Alps, the mountains here are primarily composed of dolomite, with vertical fractures in the rock forming jagged ridges and steep cliffs. At sunrise and sunset, the dolomite reflects warm hues ranging from pink to deep red. This light phenomenon is known as alpenglow, and it is one of the natural phenomena of the Dolomites. Multiple iconic landscapes are distributed along the mountain range: the jagged ridge of Seceda pierces the sky, with alpine meadows spreading out at its feet; the three massive rock peaks of the Tre Cime di Lavaredo rise abruptly, forming the iconic skyline of the Dolomites. Summer is the primary season for hiking, with numerous trails crossing alpine meadows and pine forests, dotted with family-run mountain huts along the way for rest and dining. In winter, the Dolomites transform into a ski destination, with ski slopes connecting multiple valleys. The entire region blends Italian and Austrian culture, with architectural styles featuring characteristics of both.Rocca Pietore · 28.4 km from VillnoB

Puez-Geisler Nature Park

Puez-Geisler Nature Park

4.1
The Dolomites have many national parks perfect for hiking adventures, and Funes Valley is backed by the Puez-Geisler Nature Park, which is one of them. You can never imagine the awe it inspires until you reach the foot of the Geisler peaks. Hike along a narrow trail, just wide enough for 1 or 2 people, through the forest for about 2 hours, and the view suddenly opens up to reveal towering, cone-shaped peaks standing before you. You have arrived at the foot of the Geisler peaks. At this moment, open your arms to embrace the picturesque nature, wander freely through the fields, or enjoy a meal on the restaurant balcony of a wooden lodge opposite the peaks, and you will realize that the paradise of your dreams is not so far away.San Martin de Tor · 12.2 km from VillnoB

Piazza del Duomo is located in the center of Milan, surrounded by many important buildings, including the landmark of Milan, the cathedral. The square gradually developed with the construction of the cathedral and was named after it. In the center of the square stands the equestrian bronze statue of Vittorio Emanuele II, the first king of the Kingdom of Italy. Around the square, there are also a series of important buildings such as the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, the neoclassical-style royal palace, and the cathedral museum. On the square, you can see flocks of leisurely strolling pigeons, and sometimes in the evening, you may encounter impromptu street performances. The area near the square is home to many shopping malls, boutiques, and high-end restaurants, making it a well-known leisure and shopping district in Milan.Italy · Milan

Staying near Ortisei, I went to Blade's Edge Mountain first, then drove 36 minutes to the P2 parking lot of the Hughes Plateau. I parked there for less than 3 hours and was charged 28.5 euros. Then I walked to the popular spot to take pictures of the sunrise on the Golden Mountain. It was super beautiful, but a little difficult to walk. It was about 8 kilometers round trip and took a total of 2 hours. Don't drive on the road inside, otherwise you will encounter a sky-high ticket. There was a 👮 who kept an eye on every foreign vehicle along the way. It was beautiful.

Beautiful ride and great access to mountain trails! The Rasciesa Funicular in Ortisei is a quick and scenic way to reach the Rasciesa plateau without a long uphill hike. The funicular is modern, clean, and runs very smoothly — the ride itself takes only about 8-10 minutes, climbing through forests before opening up to amazing views near the top.At the summit, the scenery is absolutely stunning: wide-open meadows, fresh air, and plenty of hiking options with panoramic views of the Dolomites. It’s a perfect starting point for a walk to the Brogles Hut or just a peaceful stroll on the plateau.Tickets prices are not as high as the other funiculars in ortisei, and the views and convenience make it worth it, especially if you enjoy nature and photography. It can get busy during peak times, so going early in the morning is a good idea.

Landmark Significance: As the city center of Milan, the square is an irregularly shaped polygon covering approximately 12,000 square meters. It was the coronation site of the first king after the unification of Italy (Napoleon was crowned here in 1805) and is now part of a World Heritage Site.
