Jakarta Old Town

Jakarta Old Town is the birthplace of the city. It was formerly Batavia, built by the Dutch in the 17th century, and served for a long time as the capital during the Dutch East Indies period and the headquarters of the Dutch East India Company in Asia. The old town retains clusters of Dutch-style red brick buildings, and the layout of cobblestone squares, old canal streets, and old warehouses continues to this day. You can also visit the adjacent Glodok Chinatown along the way. The heart of the old town is Taman Fatahillah, surrounded by colonial-era buildings: the former Batavia City Hall is now the Jakarta History Museum. Beside the square, there is also the Wayang Museum, which displays traditional Indonesian shadow puppets and marionettes, as well as the Museum Mandiri and Museum Bank Indonesia, which were converted from old bank buildings and are all within walking distance. You can often encounter folk performances on the square. Ondel-Ondel, giant puppets wearing painted masks, are a common form of performance. You can also rent a vintage bicycle to ride around the square. Heading north from the square along the old canal street, you will pass the Kota Intan Drawbridge, which dates back to the 17th century. Further north is the Sunda Kelapa Old Harbor area, where the Maritime Museum is housed in a former Dutch warehouse. The old town is not large, and the main attractions can be connected on foot.West Jakarta · 6.4 km from downtown

Jakarta Old Town (Kota Tua), şehrin tarihi merkezidir ve sömürge döneminden kalma Hollanda mimarisiyle ünlüdür.

Buying online is cheaper than on site. Came during peak period, on site price was RP440k for International, and RP400k for Local. Go early. We reached at 12pm and did not have time to finish the place. Wait time is between 0mins for kids rides to 30mins. Food within the themepark is reasonably priced with drinks as low as Rp10k, and snacks from Rp15k. Overall a great experience for us and the kids. Kids need a minimum height of 100m for the rides.

The History Museum is a typical place to visit in Jakarta. Many museums in Jakarta are quite interesting. This History Museum is also a very unique choice to understand Indonesia’s rich cultural history. It opened relatively late.

Atlantis Water Adventures, a massive pool in Jakarta where you can have fun all day long, was absolutely amazing. The theme is the lost city of Atlantis, and the Crazy Slide, one of Indonesia's best and longest thrill slides, is incredibly exhilarating! There are also plenty of kids' pools, making it great value for money. 👇 💡Things to keep in mind before you go: - It gets extremely crowded on weekends, so going first thing in the morning on a weekday is definitely recommended! - In addition to the pool fee, there is a separate entrance fee for the Ancol area (be careful not to pay twice) - Lockers and inner tubes are available for rent for an extra charge - There is little shade, so sunscreen and a rash guard are essential. Tickets are cheaper and more affordable if you book in advance through Trip.com, etc.!

Angzu Beach in North Jakarta is the most popular tourist attraction for Indonesians during their holidays. The park is very large and the beach is a good place for children to play in the water. You can also take a boat out to sea to experience the beautiful scenery, which is very good!
