Tsitsikamma National Park is a component of the Garden Route National Park, extending along the south coast of South Africa, with a marine protected area covering dozens of km of pristine coastline. The landscape here is diverse—primeval forests spread along river valleys, cliffs plunge directly into the sea, mountain fynbos and coastal wilderness grow intertwined, and rivers rush from the inland into the sea, carving out deep canyon views. Storms River Mouth is the core area of the park. A suspension bridge spans the mouth, and walking on it offers a view of the magnificent convergence of river water and ocean waves. On the other side of the bridge, a short, steep trail leads to a viewing platform, where you can take in the panoramic view of the entire mouth. Storms River bridge spans the mouth of the Storms River in the Tsitsikamma region along the Garden Route in South Africa and is a popular pedestrian suspension bridge within the Tsitsikamma section of the Garden Route National Park. The river water, stained reddish-brown by forest tannins, emerges from the deep gorge and collides head-on with the waves of the Indian Ocean here, with the suspension bridge hanging just approx. 7m above the churning water. Walking on the bridge, the structure sways slightly with your steps, with the roar of waves crashing against the reefs beneath your feet and steep cliffs covered in primeval forest on both sides. Tall yellowwood trees, wild figs, and various ferns grow on both sides of the walkway, and you might catch a glimpse of the brightly colored Knysna turaco. African black oystercatchers and Cape cormorants are commonly seen on the coastal reefs, dolphins sometimes appear in the nearshore waters, and during whale-watching season, you may even spot southern right whales passing near the shore.Western District · >100 km from downtown

It is STUNNING here! I don’t know what else to say! The place where the river meets the sea, the experience of going up the river and feeling the ocean’s tides affect it. Beautiful.

The Storms River Suspension Bridge is the most famous attraction in Tsitsikamma National Park. There is a long suspension bridge between two cliffs at the mouth of the Storms River. Walking on the bridge is very shaky, although it is a bit scary, but the scenery is very magnificent. You must spend money to challenge yourself.
