Kora Taisha Shrine in Kurume City, Fukuoka Prefecture, is an ancient shrine with a history of more than 1,600 years. The shrine was built near the top of Mt. Kora. Locals believe that the entire mountain is a sacred place where gods exist, and they still attach great importance to the mountain. Pass through the torii gate and climb the 131 stone steps to reach the observatory, from which you can see the entire Kurume city! It has now become a popular photo spot! The most recommended time is sunset, because Kora Taisha Shrine is built on the top of the mountain, so you can enjoy the torii gate, stone steps, sunset and night view at once. Around the summer solstice in June, you can also see the light path where the stone steps and the sunset are in a straight line.
