Ibis Brugge Centrum

I’ve recently returned from a holiday in Belgium during which I spent three nights staying at the less than impressive Ibis Brugge Centrum. Due to travelling with a friend I didn’t stay at the hotel in Bruges where I stayed when visiting the city in November 2022 and unfortunately stayed here at the Ibis instead. We arrived and checked in just after 3pm. I hadn’t been in my room long, and was just sorting out my luggage before going out, when the bedroom door was opened and a man walked in, the hotel had given my room to a second person. The man went off to reception to get a different room and I followed shortly after to complain about the error. The staff on reception were casually apologetic but told me that these kinds of errors had been happening since a new computer booking system was installed and treated the who issue as though it wasn’t a big deal. I’m aware that implementing new computer systems are never without problems, but in a hotel I would have thought that trying to ensure that the room booking system doesn’t issue a room to multiple people is a pretty basic requirement. As a woman travelling alone it is not a pleasant experience to be in a hotel room and have a stranger walk into the room, it would have been terrifying if it had happened when I had been in the shower or bed, and for the remainder of my time in Bruges I never felt relaxed when in the hotel room. After making my complaint to reception I returned to the room to find that the key card no longer worked. This happened again on my second day at the hotel after a day of sight seeing, and after my previous experience left me wondering if the room had been allocated to someone else while I was out. Even without the experience of the room being allocated to someone else I wouldn’t be planning to return to this hotel; the shower ran cold more than hot, the bed was not comfortable with the mattress feeling like it needed to be replaced, there were only two sockets in the room, one of which was partially blocked by the curtain rail (due to the room being on the top floor the ceiling sloped near the window and the curtain was weirdly hung at an angle), there was mould on the wall beneath the hooks in the bathroom and just a general need for refurbishment. My friend spent the first night in the hotel unable to sleep due to deep vibrations which she assumes were from a nearby generator. The floor was literally shaking. She changed rooms for the remaining two nights of the stay and got the impression that she wasn’t the first person to have complained about the noise problem in room 211. Positives are that the hotel is easily walkable from the train station (although you will be dragging your suitcase over cobbles) and breakfast was a reasonable spread.
Martin's Brugge

The hotel is in the perfect location to visit and experience all that Bruges has to offer, it is literally 2 mins from the Belfry and the main square. We drove to Bruges and used their secure underground garage for the duration of our stay. The rooms are basic but very comfortable, the bed in particular was very comfy! We had a very small balcony overlooking the road, which was lovely to get the atmosphere. We would have liked tea/coffee making facilities in the room and there was no iron / ironing board (although they were available from reception is needed). The bathroom was spacious and clean, with plenty of hot water for the shower. Although the hotel has a terrace, you can’t use it past 10pm due to noise restrictions, so we moved inside and were served by the stand out star of the hotel for us… Vlaktko the excellent bar man. He makes the best Moscow Mules! He was friendly and attentive and went over and above to help us. We found the check in / check out service to be a little slow. Overall, I would recommend this hotel without hesitation, it is just perfectly located and if you stay then say Hi to Vlatko!
Hotel Bryghia

Just back from a weekend in Bruges and I can't recommend the Hotel Bryghia highly enough. It's in a great location - just far enough out of the centre to be blissfully quiet and but less than 10 mins walk from the Market Square and Belfry. Right next to a beautiful canal and bridge. It was the perfect balance of an old building but with modern facilities. The bed was so comfortable, we had the best night's sleep. We were welcomed by the very warm, friendly owner, and by some Belgian chocolates in our room! The map and local knowledge he shared were priceless. We are already planning to visit again in the Summer and will definitely book the Bryghia.

This hotel is absolutely amazing. The price for 1 night is affordable. My partner booked last minute and we didn’t expect what we see online is what we get in person. The room is lovely and warm, bed is so comfortable, pillows are the softest ever we had amongst the hotel we have been for holidays. The room space are enough for couples and couldn’t ask for more. The ambiance upon the reception up to the lounge are absolutely amazing and beautiful. The lovely receptionist was so friendly as well. We highly recommend this hotel to everybody who are looking for affordable and budget friendly accommodation.
Hotel Bourgoensch Hof

We stayed here overnight during a brief visit to Bruges. We chose this hotel because the hotel was centrally located and the building itself was charmingly renovated with nice views of the city and it blended in nicely with the ambiance of the historic center. It was also very close to the tram stop from the train station. Most locations of interest are within a very short walking distance of the hotel. The staff was accomodating. The room itself was clean, quiet, and comfortable and we slept very well here. Our room did not look out over the canal but had a very very nice city view from the top floor. The room itself is small but pleasing. The breakfast was very average but satisfying. We paid €12 per person and thought it was worth no more than that. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here and would definitely stay here again when in Bruges due to its central location and its charming ambiance.
Hotel Lucca

We regularly visit towns. In this case Brugge. This is a hotel found that is the value, appearance and authentic as no other. I will never even talk about the hospitality and the warmth that Hans and his wife have made us experience as guests. A room where nothing is missing. Extremely clean, air-conditioned, separate toilet and bathroom. The facility is realized with respect and sensitive love for the history of the building. I appoint the beautiful chairs, the bed with history to Italian Lucca. And with modern adjustments of this time. Regent shower, double glassing, LED TV and feature furniture. The extensive breakfast is served in the oldest part (14th century) of the hotel and not only by the countless breads, insecticides, fresh fruit but even without breakfast is an experience. In short, fantastic and we will certainly come here.. - Come back.

Sint-Michiels
Hotel is located very close to the highway, creating a lot of noise. Place is a bit outdated. Our family room was fine. Beds are OK. Everything clean. TV with international channels. Bathroom with shower in bath (curtain) so be careful as slippery. We liked the breakfast which is in buffet form including pancakes; good bread etc Terras with snack and beer offerings. Some are a bit pricy. Parking at hotel at 5 EUR/day Little half hour by bike to Bruges center or 15 minutes by car. Very friendly staff at reception.
Hotel 't Putje

We had room 107 on a first floor. Equipment is basic. What I spotted immediately was the dirt in the bathroom - black hairs in the corners of a white floor. Bed sheet had a hole (looked like from cigarette). What was great is the location - few steps to city centre, 10 min walk to main square. Also bathroom was kind of modernized, good shower. What was very bad is the bed. A nightmare. We had double bed with 2 single mattresses and a topper. Mattresses were running to the sides with every movement, and topper falling aside. Bed sheet was not holding on mattress at all. So each morning we woke up feeling broken and with totally destroyed bed... Quilt was very warm and there was just 1 big for 2 people, would prefer 2 single quilts. And the room was incredibly hot. We could not sleep. Hotel certainly deserves some renovation. And hire cleaners that do care, please. They e.g. throw away bottles we had on a table, that we needed. Although we left all trash at the bin or near it so it was clear what was intended to be thrown away. What I also did not like was that they changed our towels each day even if they were not used. Please think about the environment! In general I noticed in Belgium they don't care much about trash separation, in most places there are no extra bins for plastic or paper, that is sad. We did not try breakfast as 18 eur per person is a lot. Reception staff was friendly. When I see pictures from this hotel posted by hotel management, I see nice modern room, and that is very unlike the room we had stayed at.
Ibis de Panne

Stay in cpuple to celebrate our 4 years, in this very beautiful hotel. Super well placed in a very quiet place and only 800m from the beach (10min walk following a magnificent open street) Very hearty lunch, we absolutely enjoyed everything. Very good attendance, so very quiet at night. Sufficient space and modern room, modern bathroom too, maybe a little too small anyway Comfortable bed and mattress. We hear a little outside noise, surely a single glazing window. In short, if we come back to this magnificent city, we will surely choose this hotel again. Long live the Ibis chain, a sure value.
ibis Styles Nieuwpoort
4.2/566 Reviews
The location of the hotel was a little difficult for us, we had seen that we were almost 2 km from the centre of Nieuwpoort and the nearby tram stop. Parking at the hotel's site was found to cost €17 per day,€0.80 per hour,we have been wisely thanked for it and put our car along the street ( free) Nothing was noticeable at the hotel, everything was okay, but it was allowed for the price we paid in the whole season (first half of August) Breakfast is €18 per person and per day ...but was extended and constantly was filled up everything, only sad that the English breakfast was as good as cold, apparently the heat retention plate does not work well ( ?? ) Drinks are very expensive in the hotel, noticeably more expensive than in the centre of Nieuwpoort.
