Rambler Garden Hotel

7.5/10

The hotel is spacious and the room is comfortable. Due to its proximity to the harbor, the floor can get damp if the air conditioning isn't on. Downstairs, there are restaurants, convenience stores, and ATMs, which is very convenient. When I was leaving, I wasn't sure how to hail a taxi, but the front desk attendant was incredibly helpful and immediately rushed outside to see if he could find one for me. The service was truly excellent. I'll definitely come again.

Second time visiting! Exactly same room for the single bed type. Although room space is really limited (7 m² maybe), it really one of my best places to stay for budget! It located at the center of Wan Chai, which it is easily connected to those CBDs e.g. Central and Causeway Bay. Just experience the building of old Hong Kong here. Thanks again in bring new life to these kind of buildings.

Seriously, the first room I was given had a toilet that wouldn't flush properly, and the wardrobe smelled terrible. They changed my room later, and I appreciate the hotel's effort. So, thank you. All in all, it was a bit of a hassle, and I didn't even stay one night. That's how it went.

Joyce House (Tsim Sha Tsui)

The hotel's location is excellent. It's just a short walk from the A21 airport bus stop, and you can easily catch the bus to the airport from right around the corner. It's right in the heart of Tsim Sha Tsui, with the MTR station just a few steps away, making dining and shopping incredibly convenient. Victoria Harbour is also just a short stroll ahead. The hotel owner, his wife, and the staff are all incredibly nice. I arrived early and, seeing how hot it was, decided to rest a bit before heading out. To my surprise, the front desk staff allowed me to check in early! Furthermore, when I was out on an errand and ended up checking out over an hour late, the owner was very understanding and kindly extended my check-out time. In a place like Hong Kong, where every inch is precious, this was a pleasant and unexpected surprise. The owner and staff are genuinely kind and humane, which is truly rare 🌹🌹. The room was very clean, though a bit small, and had no strange odors. Plus, the outlets didn't require an adapter, which was super convenient for me as a traveler from mainland China, especially since I'd forgotten mine. All in all, this is a hotel with a human touch, an exceptionally good location, and excellent cleanliness. I'll definitely stay here again next time. Thank you to the owner and staff!

Hygge Residence

Located in the bustling Tsim Sha Tsui area, this hotel offers a quiet escape. We were a party of three and booked a quad room, which was quite spacious and clean. The reception area is small but very cozy, equipped with tea bags, coffee, and hot and cold water. Downstairs, dining and getting around are incredibly convenient, with two subway entrances right outside. Across the street, about 100 meters ahead, there's a Haiphong Road wet market where you can find authentic local wonton noodles, pork chop rice, and fish balls, all very good. Especially recommended is Chung Kee, run by two elderly ladies – their beef brisket and fish balls are generously portioned, and the shrimp in their wontons are large and fresh. The hotel also has Vietnamese and Thai restaurants downstairs, all at fair prices. There's a mosque opposite and Kowloon Park nearby, perfect for a stroll.

TANKITYOU Hotel

Certainly. Here is the revised English review with the hotel name corrected to Tankityou Hotel throughout. --- Review of Tankityou Hotel: An Unbeatable Location, Overshadowed by Alarming Cleanliness Issues My stay at Tankityou Hotel began with a pleasant surprise – its prime location. Tucked away on Minden Row in Tsim Sha Tsui, it enjoys a quiet yet central setting, with the MTR Tsim Sha Tsui Station and the West Rail Line (now part of the Tuen Ma Line) just a short walk away, making travel to Hong Kong Island or the New Territories extremely convenient. The neighbourhood is a food lover’s paradise, packed with Japanese, local Hong Kong‑style, and Chinese restaurants, while the nearby Signal Hill Park offers a rare pocket of green space for relaxation. For guests like us, who had to switch from another hotel, the front desk staff’s reassurance – “if we have availability, we can arrange a room for you” – was a true lifesaver, sparing us the anxiety of being stranded. However, the fatal flaws soon became impossible to ignore. Drawing on numerous online reviews, complaints about outdated facilities and subpar hygiene are recurring themes. In my room, the silicone seals around the bathroom were covered in black mould, and the sink was ringed with stubborn limescale. Dust had accumulated on the air‑conditioning vents, and I even found tiny hairs on the bed. These are not isolated incidents – other guests have described the rooms as “disgustingly dirty”, with mouldy walls, broken faucets, and rubbish left under the beds. Some visitors checked out after just one night due to the poor conditions. Facilities are equally problematic: the TV offers only basic local channels, one guest was assigned an accessible room with a countertop too low and weak hot water pressure, and the lift has reportedly broken down, forcing guests to use the stairs. This apparent “like master, like servant” situation – where management seems unwilling to invest in refurbishment and upkeep – inevitably trickles down to staff morale, making it difficult for front‑line employees to maintain high cleaning standards. In summary: If you are simply looking for a budget place to crash for the night and can tolerate a certain level of wear and tear, the location and price are certainly attractive. But if you value basic cleanliness and a comfortable stay, I strongly advise you to think twice – as some guests have put it, you get exactly what you pay for.

Park Line Inn Hostel (Tsim Sha Tsui)

The location is great, quite close to West Kowloon High-Speed Rail Station. The accommodation is very clean, and I was most satisfied that the window in the room could be opened for ventilation, so there was no unpleasant smell. The night view from the window when the curtains were drawn was also beautiful. There's so much good food around; there's a fantastic Thai restaurant – I never expected to find authentic Thai food in Hong Kong! We walked to Victoria Harbour, where there's a hop-on-hop-off sightseeing bus with three routes, running about every half hour. Taking the bus to see the night view along the way was superb. We preferred the sightseeing bus to the boat cruise for exploring Victoria Harbour at night, as it allowed us to see different streets and experience Hong Kong's local culture. This trip to Hong Kong was a fantastic experience, and I'll definitely come back again.

We always stay here in Imperial Hotel whenever we are in HK due to its prime location. The staffs have been familiarized with us as we visit at least twice a year. We were always given a good room and our latest stay is the best that we had. We were given the highest floor with the overlooking view of the harbour. It is so pretty especially at night. As to housekeeping I can say u have to request this service as this is not normally done on a daily basis.

I recently stayed at this hotel and overall, it was a mixed experience. The biggest advantage is the location, it’s right in the city center, with all the shops and cafes just steps away. It’s also very convenient for transport, being a 7 minute walk from Central Station, with Hong Kong Station also nearby. However, there are a few downsides to be aware of. First, the hotel is situated uphill, and you have to climb narrow steps to reach it, which can be quite tiring with heavy luggage. Inside the room, I found it to be consistently cold and damp. While there is a thermostat to adjust the temperature, it seems to make no real difference whether you turn it up or down (and there is a note advising against changing it anyway). The room is very minimal. You are provided with disposable towels, toilet paper, a weak hairdryer, an electric kettle, and disposable cups. The ground floor where the reception is located does offer a small seating area where you can relax. There's also a vending machine with snacks and some basic items, plus a water refill station with both cold and hot water, which was quite convenient. One more inconvenience: the building has two elevators, but only one was working during my stay, so it took time for the elevator.
