Please excuse the messy room; after a five-day stay, it hadn't been cleaned. (It was my own laziness in not requesting cleaning, not the hotel's fault.) Pros: It's a 6-minute walk to Chunxi Road subway station, and across the overpass is the bustling outer edge of the Chunxi Road commercial area, offering plenty of shopping. Right downstairs is a local Hongqi chain convenience store, making shopping convenient and prices normal. Across from the hotel, there's a popular hotpot restaurant, a traditional breakfast shop, and a fruit stand—very convenient. Cons: The room was dim; the shower didn't work well, and the shower space was cramped. The cleanliness was just average, especially during the last two days when I woke up with itchy skin, and I'm not sure why. Overall: Very good value for money, and the front desk was responsive. I would recommend staying here. My suggestion is for them to be a bit more thorough with the cleaning.

Really enjoyed our stay in the top floor suite with an amazing view overlooking Taikoo Li and the skyline. The location is perfect for a short visit, with Taikoo Li just outside, making it very easy to walk around. The staff were extremely helpful and attentive, responding to our requests and questions instantly, they even helped us fill up the bathtub/pool while we were out so it was ready upon our return! Also loved the projector screen to watch tv. Many amenities like snacks, towels, robes, slippers were also provided. Overall, I highly recommend and would definitely return!

fantastic view from our corner room 718. day time and evening was amazing. clean, quiet. and comfortable. close to everything we needed. the only negative was workmen below renovating the park which was noisy at times. at the rate theyre working they will finish soon. and the toilet is in close proximity to the sleeping area little privacy.

one of the smoothest hotel experiences i've had in china; it's family-owned and the staff are warm and friendly! we received a room upgrade free of charge upon arrival an our room was clean, modern, spacious, and quiet. there's free coffee and mini snacks on the 4th floor, along with a self-serve free laundry (wash + dry combined) and microwave. the only downside is that the gym is +40rmb per person, but i found the facility to be run-down, dirty, and with some broken machines. overall a very positive experience. we rebooked sungold hotel again after we return from our trip to jiuzhaigou (九寨沟)!

Beautiful authentic hotel 😍😍😍 I absolutely loved those wooden decorations and style 🥰 The hotel stuff was great 😊 unfortunately, I can not give the highest grade because during my stay there were some reconstruction works going on (they stated early so I couldn’t sleep in the morning when I wasn’t feeling well🥹). Also, my room was next to a non-living room where something was buzzing… The location is great, I certainly recommend this location comparing to Tianfu square hotels, really, it’s way better. And it’s so easy to get to an airport with big luggages because the elevator to metro is just a step away from the hotel

The front desk staff were gentle and professional, checking me in quickly and even reminding me about the big temperature swings between morning/evening and hot afternoons – thumbs up! Any questions I had were answered patiently and meticulously by the staff, who were warm and polite, never dismissive or cold. You can really feel their thoughtful service in the details. The room's cleanliness was truly impeccable. No strange odors upon entering, and the floors, tabletops, and bathroom corners were all spotless. The bedding was soft and dry, making for a very comfortable sleep. The toiletries were also high quality, and the hot water was stable and plentiful. The soundproofing was excellent; it was completely quiet at night, ensuring a great night's rest. The amenities were comprehensive; the air conditioning, lighting, and internet all worked smoothly. The room was spacious and didn't feel cramped, with plenty of storage space for luggage and clothes. The common areas were neat and clean, with a simple yet elegant overall decor and a great atmosphere. If there was breakfast, it deserves praise too. The dishes were varied and fresh, with balanced flavors. Hot and cold foods, fruits, and drinks were all available, catering to different tastes. Overall, the value for money is outstanding. The service, environment, and cleanliness are all top-notch, making for a worry-free and comfortable stay. Easy to find. You can walk from the east side of East Station through an underground passage directly to the hotel's elevator. There are also plenty of restaurants and convenience stores nearby. Check-in was quick, and the front desk staff were very warm and friendly. Very satisfied. As soon as I opened the room door, I noticed the AC was on, and after taking a couple more steps, I could even see Chengdu East Station. However, the facilities are a bit old; I feel the outlets and showerhead could use an upgrade. Excellent value for money, highly recommend this place. I'll definitely choose this hotel again for an overnight layover in Chengdu.

When I checked in on September 4, 2026, the special receptionist, Mr. Su, was very attentive and helpful, even carrying my luggage to my room. The stay was fantastic. We stayed in room 1025, which was beautiful, very clean, smoke-free, and had fresh air, so we slept very well. The room was quiet, and although there was heavy traffic outside, the view was expansive, offering beautiful city views The room had a window that could be opened and closed. The air conditioning was in good working order, fully functional, and could be manually switched on and off, so there was no need to worry about the room being too cold or too hot; the temperature was well controlled. The television was in good working order and fully functional. The cleaning staff were also very warm and friendly. The weather here varies every day; it can be hot, warm, cold, or even drizzling. Regarding the laundry room, I used it every day, the washing machine and dryer were both very good and easy to operate. You could choose an 18-minute or 30-minute washing cycle, and the drying cycle could also be controlled with buttons, choosing 30 minutes or 1 hour depending on the clothes. I'm very grateful for the newly added electric kettle in the room; it's beautifully designed and very durable—I've never seen anything like it before. The hotel's location is excellent. You can walk directly to ICBC Bank, the International Finance Centre, Taikoo Li, Chunxi Road, Metro Line B, etc. It's like a shopping area with many vendors, but I ate many unique foods and fruits that I'd never seen or tasted before. Some fruits were cheaper than in Malaysia, like blueberries. Cash payments are accepted, and every shop and vendor will give change. Google Maps cannot find your hotel, but the GPS location on the Amap app is very accurate. Your hotel link points to the Mercury Hotel, but Google Maps can only show the location of the Mercury Hotel. The Ibis Hotel only has two elevators connecting to the Mercury Hotel's four elevators. The breakfast buffet is excellent, offering local, Western, and Asian food, all very fresh. This is my review for you here. I will also write the same positive review on Google and Trip.com.
