It's a very large youth hostel. After checking in, I stayed in the building opposite. Then I could use the swimming pool and kitchen of the youth hostel next door. It seems that they have the same owner. The bathroom is the largest among the dozens of youth hostels I have stayed in so far. It's a very comfortable environment.
Thanks to Trip.com staff for coordinating the check-in time and adjusting the quiet room in time. The front desk staff of the hotel has a young lady's professionalism and is better to find the staff to connect to Wi-Fi in time.
The lobby is the feeling of a general business travel. It is much more spacious on the second floor. I think the room is very clean, but because the external window is facing the corridor, there is no way to keep it open, so my bathroom is open to have an exhaust fan, but it is still very good. It is also very close to the bus stop.
I don’t know if this area is a dangerous area at night, but there are small restaurants here for a minute or two, which are also delicious.
The hotel is strategically located, a few steps out to the intersection, opposite the National Museum
Within a 10-minute walk from the National Theatre and the commercial streets of downtown San Jose, Costa Rica, Central Park and other landmarks
The hotel lobby is very stylish. The front desk service is warm and friendly. The restaurant breakfast is simple but there is coffee, egg, bread and fruit enough!
The room is clean, comfortable and safe!
A great stay experience
It was a satisfactory stay. The room and rooftop view are great.
We were traveling with a rental car, so it was very helpful that the parking lot was free.
The room was fashionable and very clean overall. It may be even better to add a kettle to kitchen utensils.
Of the 2 rooms I booked, 1 there was a cigarette smell when I entered the room, but when I contacted him, he offered me a replacement room.
I recommend it. Thank you very much.
The breakfast is plentiful and changes every day, especially the South American specialties. There are many kinds of fruits, and the sweet taste of milk is my favorite. The rooms are generally clean, with few TV channels, and they are basically in Spanish.
I stayed in this hotel on a business trip a few years ago. It's not far from the airport and has a nice environment. There's a coffee shop downstairs next door and the transportation is convenient. There was a safety drill on the day before leaving, which was pretty good.
It’s more cost-effective to book a breakfast-included package on Ctrip. When I checked in, I didn’t find breakfast at first, but it soon became clear.

TTessa_assetUndiscovered gem of a hotel near San Pedro.
Pros: We were looking for a place on the lower end of the price spectrum that was a one night romantic getaway for two, that I could also use my free trip coins at toward the cost of the room. Preferably including breakfast and a swimming pool with jacuzzi 😉 Not much to ask!
We booked one of the cheaper rooms on the ground floor.
Before check in we took an Uber to San Pedro mall to do some essential shopping and see a movie. Then we checked in and I relaxed in the jacuzzi under the San José night sky while my husband enjoyed a full workout in the gym/weights room. TV with cable was great for my husband who enjoyed the football while I enjoyed the hot shower and relaxed in the bed afterwards. We had an amazingly comfortable sleep and a delicious breakfast in the morning of gallo pinto, fresh tropical fruits, freshly squeezed watermelon juice and hot coffee. A generous check out time of 12pm meant we had more than enough time to get our things together and leave when it suited.
Cons: Not many cons at this price point and value. The guy at the desk was a bit weird when we asked him for a second glass for water as there was only one in the room but not a big deal. We also had to ask him for the TV remote. The towels were a bit small like a mini dress on me after my shower. But good quality (with a third extra towel for the jacuzzi) and high quality bed linen. It also is in a slightly rough looking neighborhood but this is not a problem if you travel to and from the hotel by Uber or use a hire car (which you can park privately inside the property).
Overall impression: The other photos on trip.com and similar booking sites do not do this hotel justice - it looks far better in person. It has real character since it is a restored historic hotel from an era bygone, but that is why everything is such high quality from the bed linen to the floor tiles. Everything is also in good shape and freshly painted. There a little hidden nooks around the hotel that make it very charming. The breakfast area is lovely and the jacuzzi, pool and water slide were a real highlight. We WILL be back.
JJérémy50309Hôtel bien placé pour aller ce balader dans l’avenue centrale, proche de tout à pied, un parking payant est proche dans la rue derrière pour votre voiture afin d’être tranquille pour 1000 crc par heure.
GGuest UserMy wife and I stayed here a few nights both at the beginning and end of our three-week trip to Costa Rica. The location is attractive as it is very easy to get to the city center, and very near the newly completed ring road which goes all around the city. This is a big plus, since the traffic in San Jose (and Costa Rica in general) can be truly horrendous. We would have liked to have laundry services, which are only available by appointment at certain times and days. Breakfast was simple but good. The staff were mostly friendly and helpful.

Iisa.mendezThe exteriors and the pool are nice but the rooms are very old and the smell was very bad inside, i think maybe because the carpet looks also old and dirty. I had to change from the first room because of that and the second one wasn't much better. The breakfast is buffet but very basic with a few options so i just got it one day. The a/c very old and noisy during the night.
CCHENGLIDuring the three nights I stayed, I changed rooms in the next two nights, but found that the sound insulation of the rooms in the next two nights was relatively poor, and the bed sheets also had red blood-like stains. Other services are great, breakfast/gym/swimming pool, etc.
JJJin87The hotel is a lot smaller than the pictures. The room is also small but has great shower and comfortable beds. There is no free parking, the reception will provide a voucher and you need to pay $7 to park next door. The hotel location is awesome, you can walk to most of the attractions. Breakfast buffet is great.
DDamienCurtains on the bed which is a killer feature to get some intimacy and sleep better. Common spaces are well designed. Yoga class in the morning is highly recommended. People are welcoming but usually won't stay for long as San Jose is usually a step to go somewhere else. Except a few co-workers.
