A lovely stay with an upgrade to a cottage, all quickly and efficiently arranged. This was a trip in honour of an annual expedition for my late wife Caroline and I to the Pitlochry area for autumn. Caroline always wanted to stay in the lovely cottages so it was fate and her sparkle that helped with the upgrade.
Food is incredible and a wide selection of choices along with fantastic, friendly service and drinks. Very good to eat and sit by the river in warmer times. Terrific breakfast too.
The cottage was spacious and kept warm. Very comfy. They are not new so you must allow for some quirky spaces and layouts. It was lovely to have that space to relax.
Port Na Craig is a 10/15m walk from the town over the suspension bridge or the dam. It's a beautiful walk but be careful near water. Pitlochry is a beautiful town that Caroline and I have enjoyed for years and I'll continue to honour her by visiting. Thanks to the Port Na Craig team for making me so welcome and for the prosecco for toasting Caroline. Much appreciated.

Guest UserGreat location for town centre and though we didn’t drive there was a very large carpark. Got into room half hour early. Room was a double deluxe and a good size. Very clean, can’t fault cleanliness anywhere in the hotel. En-suite was spotless. Room bed was very comfortable. Iron, ironing board, fan, robes and slippers provided. Coffee machine as well as kettle with tea, normal coffee and hot chocolate. Bar was well stocked and a competitive price for for town. Breakfast had a good selection for both continental and hot offerings. Swimming pool is good to have and was well used but never overly busy. Main areas were nicely decorated and furnished and complimented the building but the decor in the likes of the halls and stairways as well as the bedroom itself in need of a bit of modernisation. All in all a very good stay and would return.

Jerry QuThe hotel staff and location were great, nestled in a beautiful little town. My only minor issue was that the hotel itself is a bit dated, and some of the facilities felt a little old-fashioned, but it didn't really detract from the overall experience!

It is worthy of being rated as ”the best B&B”. We drove there from Inverness in the evening, and the owner would ask us our arrival time through Ctrip. When we arrived, the owner was already waiting.
The little house is very cute and has a small parking lot that can accommodate 8 cars. Everything was well organized, the room was large and very clean. There is a breakfast list for the room in the evening. You need to mark what you want to eat and put it on the table at the door. There is also a form to check what time you would like to have breakfast. The owner will collect it in the evening and prepare breakfast according to two forms the next day.
On the last day of September, I actually turned on the heating. I thought it was too exaggerated, but I slept until midnight and realized that the heating is really necessary 😂
When the store was serving breakfast in the morning, they would chat for a while, ask us where we were going, and then thoughtfully tell us how to get there. You can leave your car and luggage here first and walk to Blair Atholl Distillery, which is about one kilometer away. The scenery on the way is beautiful.
Great room& excellent service

Cool castle and great restaurant. Both dinner and breakfast are great. I am happy with everything. There is free parking. All rooms are different, so choose responsibly :)
I would like to mention the water in the room - the sparkling water is very tasty. But a small bottle is not enough, people in your restaurant actually drink whiskey, they really need it in the morning :)
It is a pity that the fireplace was not burning, it adds coziness.

We have been happy with the location, only that our room was downstairs and located right across from the toilets for the pub. It was very noisy. And you couldn't open the window, cause the window is towards the courtyard and there was a table right in front of the window and people who visit the pub can sit at tables in the courtyard.
We would stay again but with a room upstairs 😉

Guest UserOn arrival we were allocated a very small, went back to reception and this was sorted. My gripe is the now £10.00 per day parking charge. However you can park elsewhere for free. This will now make choosing the Angus hotel as not a first option as the main reason for going is the spa facilities unfortunately they are now getting tired and in need of TLC as is the hotel.
