Stayed at Comfort Hotel Maebashi for a short trip. The room was warm and cozy, though a bit small — similar to most hotels in Japan. However, I was pleasantly surprised that the toilet felt more spacious compared to other hotels. Overall, a comfortable stay with everything you need. Would definitely consider staying here again!
Very nice Japanese style room overlooking the river and the tree filled riverbank hill. It was very private. Breakfast and dinner was served at the table and was excellent. Much variety of fish, chicken, pork, tofu, and vegetables. The overall atmosphere was very elegant and relaxed. The ryokan is located right on one of the bus stops for easy access from the train station. It is a short 10 minute walk to the main area of town. There are several onsen pools. Some rotate between men and women at different hours. Very clean with good amenities. Overall a very memorable stay.
Great location and overall a good stay. I would consider staying again. However, the soundproofing was very poor. I could clearly hear noise from the hallway and the neighboring room, including an alarm that rang for a long time early in the morning. If you are sensitive to noise, this hotel may not be suitable.
立地がとても良く、全体的には満足でした。また宿泊候補の一つです。ただし、防音がかなり悪く、廊下や隣の部屋の音、早朝のアラーム音がはっきり聞こえました。音に敏感な方にはおすすめできません。
Because there is no restaurant convenience store near the hotel, I chose to eat in the hotel restaurant, which is delicious and not expensive. The rooms are clean and comfortable and cost-effective.
This is a fabulous place for an authentic Japanese holiday. The location is beautiful. The outdoor hot spring bathing area is clean and looks like a movie set. The included meals are generous in portion size and are delicious. Our room overlooked the river and it was great. Tatami floors and shoji screen windows. This is an old and historic place and does not cater to western norms. You sleep on futons on the floor. Only Japanese food is available. But it is a wonderful place to spend some time.
The Dormy Inn brand is guaranteed. With a room rate of less than $500, you can enjoy a bath, soba noodles and popsicles in the evening, and the room is also large, with enough space for three large suitcases. It is very worthwhile.
The location is slightly off the station. Convenience stores are available on Friday. There are also frozen food. The room is container-style overall or very good. Unexpectedly quiet.
I was satisfied because there were many types of baths in the large public bath.
However, although you can see the river from the balcony, the balcony was in such bad condition that I didn't feel like going outside.
I had enjoyed the hot spring town a few years ago when I stayed at another hotel nearby, so I was looking forward to going there again this time, but I was very disappointed to find that all three amusement centers were closed.
Two of them are out of business, and one seems to close at 6pm.
Location is 10 mins walk from Kusatsu bus station with slight slope street. Room is quite spacious for 2 person and 2 luggages. Good that all hotel information has been translated in english and are very clear and helpful EXCEPT entrance has no information to take off shoes as Japanese tradition. When we came, reception staff was on break and seem he might be the only person handled everything. Overall location is prime for this place.

Amazing
BBenjaminsim87Omori has a rich history as a Ryokan. The interior is homely and vintage! Like it’s frozen in time in the 1980s. The lounge has a panoramic view of Mount Akagi and several other mountain ranges. you can sip sake or wine from paid dispensers while you find your zen. The Level 8 outdoor bath is awesome and spacious. Views are awesome and the air is refreshing. Omori is right next to the Ikaho bus station as well as the Ikaho Ropeway. Just a 5mins walk to the stone steps as well. Even though the nearest Kombini (Famimart) is a 15 minute walk away, they have their own minimart. Breakfast was well crafted with hand-picked local Gunma produce. Awesome!!!

GGuest UserThe hotel facilities are a bit old, but the location is excellent. The front desk even has staff who speak Chinese, and there's a great selection of free yukata to choose from right next to the front desk. Both breakfast and dinner are buffet-style, and the restaurant offers a rich variety of food, including all-you-can-drink draft beer.
GGuest UserThe location is very good, the hot spring is also very good, booked including breakfast, dinner, both meals are ordinary, nothing special. The room is large and very comfortable. The biggest problem is that there is no wifi in the room, only in the lobby, no payment. I have seen nearby hotels provide WiFi, want to book Osaka House to accept this point 😅
SSam_6This hotel is conveniently located in the town center, just a short walk from the main attractions and the train station.
The room is quite spacious and features wooden flooring, so you’ll want to move carefully to keep the noise down.
There’s a public bath available since the room doesn’t have a shower.
The hotel also offers a continental breakfast.
Staffs are polite and welcoming
GGuest UserThe staff was very good.
I am very satisfied that I can enjoy the food and eat various dishes little by little. I didn't get tired of watching the murals in the bath.
The staff was very happy to serve and it was a fun trip.
There are few inns that I want to use again, but Tatsumi Kan wanted to use it again!
Thank you.
配配魚魚Highly recommend staying for two consecutive nights; the outdoor onsen in the snow was amazing! We stayed in a nine-person room, split into two separate spaces, and the rooms were very spacious. The 'one night, two meals' package for two days offered delicious and varied meals. On our last night, we added the all-you-can-drink option for less than 500 NTD per person, which was incredibly good value. Plus, there were free noodles available until 10:30 PM!
PPY WONG The TravellerThe surroundings are exceptionally quiet, making it ideal for relaxation or even a bit of meditation. It may not be the best choice for families with children, as there are very limited amenities catered for them.
Service, however, was outstanding. The staff went above and beyond — when my rental car had a brake light issue, they noticed it before I did, stepped in to assist, contacted the rental company, and ensured it was resolved the very next morning. That level of attentiveness is rare.
Location-wise, it is quite remote. There’s little within walking distance, so getting around or finding food requires some planning. But if you’re here for peace and an onsen experience, that quiet isolation becomes part of the appeal.
A memorable stay overall, especially for those seeking calm, comfort, and genuine hospitality.
GGuest UserWe arrived early (about 11:00) at the ryokan and were met by a very helpful young lady receptionist who spoke good English. She accepted our luggage, arranged a ground floor room for us (my wife has difficulty climbing stairs) and recommended us where to eat and what to do. The room was clean and sizeable. The bed was comfortable. The ryokan provided a simple buffet breakfast (much to our surprise and delight). It is located just a short distance from the Yubatake and is very convenient. Overall, we are very happy with the ryokan.
BBenSo many little things that make this hotel much better than anything else. The way they show you to your room, the way they put your shoes away and bring them back on your departure date, the way dinner and breakfast is waiting for you at your own private table, the way they let couples share an onsen during quiet hours. My point is - you will feel like a VIP here. The staff and always there, taking care of you in subtle ways, but you never feel watched or intruded on. This kind of invisible service - maybe hard for westerners to understand, but it is excellent. You will feel like you are really being understand and looked after. Highly recommend. Best hotel service I've had in japan in 2 years of living here. Highly recommended.
