Might be the worst hotel i've been to in Japan in terms of cleanliness and soundproofing (latter is actually non existent - you'll hear people talking and watching TV) - but the price was close to being free and location is extremely convenient. I won't chose this hotel next time, but if you sleep well and need a place to crush for a night - it's ok
The location is superb, very close to the station! Right outside, there's a large supermarket just down a small path. It's also very close to the Bikan Historical Quarter, and there's a popular tonkatsu restaurant nearby that always has a long queue.
The room was small, actually the smallest of the five hotels I booked on this trip.
The shower came with a bathtub, and the drain was a bit clogged.
I left something behind at the hotel, and they kindly helped send it to my next hotel. Many thanks!
Located in the Kurashiki Bikan area, it's less than a 3-minute walk to a convenience store. It's a 10-minute walk from the station. Meals are served in the morning and evening; dinner offers a choice of two options, and there's also a bath.
I needed accommodation on short notice and used this hotel, and I was impressed by its excellent cost performance. The ample parking is a great advantage for those traveling by car. The free breakfast, while commensurate with the price, was very convenient.
Also, the late check-in time was reassuring, as it allowed for flexibility in my schedule. While the building shows some signs of age, it's clean and well-maintained, and I didn't feel uncomfortable. I think this is a good option for anyone looking for affordable accommodation in Kurashiki.
The hotel is a bit of a walk from Kurashiki Station, and navigating the cobblestone paths through the scenic area can be quite tiring with luggage. On our return, we had the hotel arrange a taxi, which cost 1200 JPY.
The hotel grounds are beautiful, and its location right in the Bikan Historical Quarter makes shopping incredibly convenient. Rooms are clean and quite modern. Just be aware that if you select the 'Do Not Disturb' option, towels will not be replaced. The breakfast restaurant offers an elegant setting, primarily serving Japanese cuisine, and you can even take coffee to go after your meal.
Overall, it's a very high-quality hotel.
It's close to Kurashiki Station and there's a convenience store next door, so it wasn't inconvenient. Amenities were available at the front desk and were free to take. I missed out on the comb and slippers, but I was able to stay comfortably until the next day.
The price was also reasonable, so I'd like to stay here again next time.
It would have been nice if there were two bottles of mineral water in the room.
I booked the cheapest ”random room type” and arrived a little past 2 PM, just before check-in. They kindly gave me a super spacious king room with a balcony ahead of time! It's very close to the station, about a 5-minute walk. Across the street from the hotel, on the second floor, there's an izakaya with delicious fried chicken wings!
However, if you're uncomfortable with a mirror facing the bed, I wouldn't recommend it, as older hotels with traditional decor often have this setup.
You can walk to Korakuen Garden, which takes about 20 minutes if you're fast.
The nearest station is Tokiwa Station on the Mizushima Rinkai Railway. It's conveniently located, just a two-minute walk from the station.
The hotel overall was very clean, and the rooms were spacious and comfortable.
The breakfast and dinner options were plentiful. They were delicious!!
The large public bath can fit six or seven people at a time. When I used it, there was no one there, so I was able to soak in the tub without any problems.
During the day, you can shop at the nearby supermarket. The nearest convenience store is a little far away.
There are many delicious restaurants, so you'll have no trouble finding something to eat.
Location: Excellent! It's super convenient – just exit the west gate of the train station, cross the road, and go through a passage. There are tons of food options nearby; a bustling snack street is right across the road. Shopping is incredibly convenient too, not to mention the mall attached to the station itself. You've got Matsumoto Kiyoshi downstairs, Don Quijote across the street, and Takashimaya.
Facilities: The onsen (hot springs) alternate between male and female baths daily. One bath has an outdoor pool, while the other doesn't, but overall, the experience is still great.
Service: Each day, you get a complimentary drink or alcoholic beverage at the front desk.
